After buying some Vitamin D into my skin yesterday, i thought I would char it with some grilling.

Excelling at "how to make a ribeye look like a Kroger burger." The ribeye is 16oz and actually twice as high as the burgers (8oz each). It came out nice.
Surprisingly, as it's usually hit or miss with Kroger 80/20, they exceeded expectations.

32oz Porterhouses, sous vide at 134F (my oldest is a little squeamish) then 500F in a cast iron for 90 seconds per side. Best mushroom sauce I have ever made on the side: portobello, meat juices, red wine, and a spoon of my homemade cayenne sauce.

Venison back strap seasoned with ramp salt and pepper topped with ramp compound butter with the last of the local asparagus and sweet potatoes.

Drool!

Can't wait to visit my parents in WV this Fall and mule back some deer meat. My freezer hasn't seen deer, and I haven't seen my parents, since pre-COVID :( I am going to take the sous vide this time, and show my Mom how to use it. It'll do wonders to some of those tougher cuts of meat.

Ive been tinkering with some "pesto" ideas. One i made was pretty interesting.
Thai Sweet Basil (60 grams)
Fresh toasted peanuts and pine nuts (3 TBS total)
Lime juice (2 TBS)
Garlic roasted with the nuts (5 large cloves)
Avocado oil (little less than a 1/2 cup)
Fish sauce (optional) didnt add any this batch but 2 TSP would be about right
Sea salt (use less if adding fish sauce) (1/4-1/2 TSP)

Same basic process as making typical pesto but no cheese. A "paste like this is sometimes used in a Thai dish with ground pork and long beans. It would also include Holy basil, shallots and chile peppers. I was out of shallots atm but my next test will include shallots. The one i made was good on Chinese pork lo mein :D

Half the stuff in my garden are veggies I can’t get in the grocery store but wanted to try. Picked my first batch of golden beets today. Roasted the beets (air fryer) and sautéed the greens.

I can tell in my body mood I am lacking some of the bright veggies. It's usually in the winter time but I have neglected the veggie binge I do in the summer.

Wife wanted grilled cheese and tomato soup, so I made...

My wife and her mom decided to become bee keepers. She had a swarm take over her worm bin, my wife has always wanted bees, so she bought a hive, and they transferred them over. The honey, so good...can't wait...drool!!

Had something similar while we were in New Mexico. It's so good - a hatch chile pork stew. Roasted everything on cherry wood first then crock pot for half the day (corn, hatch Chiles, serrano Chile, tomatillos, onion, garlic, and pork shoulder).
