Apologies for the ****** pic (and no that pinot is not FT), I always get so excited to taste that the picture usually ends up like this. Ah well--on to the beer itself.
Split this 375 ML '05 OGV with a good buddy yesterday. Label clearly had some damage but the cork was sealed with very little schmudge seeping out around the neck. A nice little pop on the cork, poured almost still with just a hint of carbonation. I poured it cold from the fridge as I like to spend a while sipping and you can really notice the aromas change as it gets warmer and warmer. The first time I had this vintage (2014ish?) I noticed a lot of oxidation from that particular bottle. This bottle did not display nearly as much, and as it warmed I really didn't pick up on any notes. Super funky nose, basement for days with some touches of mint, earth and leather. I opened a herfst recently and I honestly may have guessed herfst if someone gave me this blind. Sad to see it go but really glad I had a chance to revisit this vintage. Cheers islandboi8204

Yea man, mine had a good bit of leather as well, pretty awesome stuff.

Listening to Things Fall Apart by The Roots, which I`ve done numerous times, great record.
In "Ain`t Saying Nothing New", this is heard : "Yo, head lost, sippin' this lambic framboise" :)

That record was released in 1999, they must be long time patrons of Monks

Safe to say Black Thought probably has some OG Framboos and LPF in his cellar.

Favorite Roots album is Do You Want More, but this is up there. Adrenaline! Act Too, You Got Me, all top notch tunes.

Anyone else close out their box for the quarter on Etre and it seems like it taking a **** ton longer than it normally does to get to you?

No, but I have a strong desire to send them an email asking for a box of 12 Fantomes. I dont even give a **** which 12 they are (so long as its not multiples of the ones that are 10+ years old and like $50 each.)

I got an email Monday asking if I wanted to add anything. I added something, they sent me my paypal invoice Tuesday, then 3 hours later I got an email saying they haven't heard back from me and would cancel my order if I didn't respond? But I emailed back Jonathan and he said we were all good. I'm sure it is annoying keeping track of all these reservations.

Same here. I emailed Joana from Etre and this is what she just wrote back:
I am sorry that you have not received your box yet.

Bpost informed us that USPS is having some delay in the deliveries.

I hope you will receive your box very soon.

Yea...my box apparently left Belgium on the 16th and it hasn't been updated since.
I have the same thing for a box from BIAB that last had a scan on the 16th in Belgium. This has happened to me before and I plan on going to my local USPS hub tomorrow or Friday to check if it's there. The last few times I've had a major lag in updates on tracking, this was the case and it was waiting for me at the post office.

Was there a reason why they didn't attempt to deliver it?
The boxes are almost always 30kg or thereabouts and quite large. My local USPS simply will not deliver those. I don't think I've ever had a shipment from Belgium actually delivered to my door. A lot of times I don't even get a door tag.

Well we did just have a serial bomber.....that probably has something to do with it. Customs probably isn't messing around right now, and yesterday for the first time ever on a pure dropoff at fedex, the lady asked what I was shipping. Live yeast samples of course.

$326.07 for three shipped. Kinda tempting I guess but I'm gonna pass. Plus the exchange rate is like 10-15% higher than it was a year or two ago.

Well, looks like this wasn’t the case for this box. Looks like it is still in Belgium along with everyone else’s lambic. Though I had them check on two other boxes also from Belgium and they’re both in NY so some boxes are moving.

Has anyone else noted the interesting timing of etre's Cantillon drops? They seem to be at the beginning of each quarter, just in time to start a new box. Genius strategy to get us coming back for our new box to fill and ship each quarter! Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful that stores like etre exist b/c Cantillon is like a ghost on shelves here in STL. Also my box from March arrived through Chicago customs this week so they are moving

They definitely also do some in the middle of the quarter, which I know because I invariably forget that I've already purchased some and the buy some more, which used to be fine but this last time got me yelled at for cheating the system which was extremely confusing.

Anyway, it's probably just a coincidence. Also I need to do a better job remembering my orders.
