Thought maybe this should go into the general forum, but I think DIY might have a larger audience.

We here in the DIY forums and other forums out there know a little bit about garage engineering. We think up, collaborate, and build some truly outstanding and unique sculptures. We crowd source better processes and designs for almost every aspect of home brewing. Some of us have even taken it a step further made a business out of the things we make.

Is it the next revolution for America and beyond? I hope so. It is the next step in an internet society. We have figured out how to put the knowledge out there for everyone. Now we just need to take that information and use it in the real world to make things better and more importantly less bland.

Why buy from Walmart things you can make yourself! Truly an inspiring article.

Thats really cool! They've even got a cup cake CNC. Have you ever seen the Reprap? It can reproduce about 60% of its own parts! It's pretty cool to see how versatile the arduino/sanguino boards are; cnc, Brewtroller, and tons of other cool stuff.

Homebrewing in and of itself is a leading wave of this phenomenon if you really think about it.
