My hot take: can market saturation. There is only so much $20/4-pack buying power and at this point there are 47 releases a week across multiple breweries, most of whom have acceptable substitutes.

Also, Beerwanderer there had better be service with a smile when I come to drink my “old” unfiltered unpasteurized Pils Urquell.
There are smiles occasionally at some of those locations

Definitely surprises me. I'd be down for some Gen. Braddock's in cans. I had it on tap last time I was at Piper's and it was really damn good.

I maintain that they make the best hops in Pittsburgh with it not being particularly close. That's not to say that others aren't doing good work, I just think they're a cut above.

Why can beer when you can not?

As we all know by now, I think most NEIPA tastes exactly the same. There are a few that - to my tastes - rise above the fray. Hill Farmstead, Trillium, Brew Gents, Bissell, and Burial off the top of my head are ones that I legit enjoy. Bissell and Burial don't drink as heavy as the vast majority, and they also have some bitterness. Trillium and Brew Gents keep it hazy, but not cloying. There is a fine line for me.

I have still yet to enjoy a NEIPA with an abv >8%. They drink way too sweet for me.

Never had it, but I really enjoy Lustra (after the week rest after buying it).

That's another thing I've found. Their cans are infinitely better with at least a week on them. They're releasing them really green.

I very much endorse this post.

Honest question, is there a reason why Brew Gentlemen doesn't can? Do they can and I just missed it?
They probably missed the hype boat on canning. With the market starting to get saturated, I doubt they'd command the kind of lines that DG gets. BG's hops are definitely a cut above DG though.

How soon til we start seeing DG cans at market district? Or you think they'll distro out of market first? Also, what sort of profit loss is involved in sending cans to distro as opposed to selling on-site?

Not DG obvi, but Hitchhiker has been selling cans in local distro.

I'm staying in downtown Columbus all weekend, where should i eat food at?

The food at Wolf's Ridge is insanely good. Solid beer as well.

RE: Brew Gents cans. There was some rumor going around that they were going to eventually can GB in those skinny Sixpoint style cans and only do random drops here and there at the accounts that carry their beer now. Not sure how legit this is, but it would be so them to do it this way (though I wouldn't mind that as I frequent the places that carry them).

Have suggested this place in the past (ate at the Cincy location, but it probably doesn't suffer Fiori's McMurray-style drop off, which is a far cry from Dormont) and liked it/miss it much.

Just tell 'em: fried whole chicken with spicy honey, collard greens, spoonbread, brown sugar bacon and the country pickled veggies. I mean, unless you want a salad, but I can't vouch for those.
