Is this really a thing that happens?
It's a lot faster than shaving them.

I was wondering the same. Figured it was a terrible batch and the euros dont want anything to do with it so they are pawning it off on us dumb Americans who are eager to set our pubes on fire just to have a chance to pay 4x the price.
For 1, it definitely isn't terrible. 2, I wish I still saw it around Belgium. Specially at 25Euro a bottle. 3, the US is definitely not paying 4x the price; I have paid as much as 35Euro a bottle in Belgium.

Would be interesting to know if they released it on a schedule or if the recent pop-ups are just random.

In a follow-up post I mentioned I was being sarcastic with that remark. However, now that I think about it more...

By no means is this "normal or the standard" but the last batch of boos sold for $100 and $120 per bottle at the only 2 places I saw bottles here on the east coast. I could be wrong but doubt this new batch will see cheaper sticker prices.

(its very possible im confusing boos with hommage but you still catch my drift.)

Most recent batch of Hanssens that came to TX. I don't get acetone in this one but it's damn tart. No strong alcohol or nail polish taste/burn. Fruit isn't super forward but nice - hoping the sourness fades over time and the fruit gets a little brighter.

Fair enough, let me rephrase. I'm hoping the harshness of the acidity fades a little and doesn't over power the fruit as much. After I posted that and it warmed up while I drank it, and it became more fruity/jammy than tart. I went back to add to my comments and it wouldn't let me edit my original post for some reason.

I've actually enjoyed Hanssens Kriek and gueuze every time I've had them. Strawberry and raspberry that my friend opened last night were pretty bad though.

How is Boon Gueuze Mariage Parfait so cheap? Under €2 a bottle where I shop in Belgium and it's still a damn fine beer, if not top drawer. How can they produce in that volume at that price?
Living wage, no desire for global domination, cheap rent........ all just guesses. I know jack **** about anything.

Just the regular Oude Geuze from Boon kills it for the price and availability too

I legit have 18+ 750ml bottles of the 2009 OG MP on my racks at the moment. Opened one last night that was so close to Drie with the funk that I find it absolutely unbelievable that it just sits on the shelves in the States. Six of those bottles were found turding up a shelf just last week. I don't get it at all.

don't get too excited i'm sure people will catch on soon enough. tilquin used to sit in certain shops in new york a few years ago now its bought up immediately...everyone finally realized that it doesn't have to be drie or canti to be good what a shocker.

Yeah we have 2011 Mariage Parfaits and 2013 Mariage Parfaits Krieks turding up the shelves at the shop where I work. They have been there for a few months now. I wont complain though bc it means I can just buy them whenever I want.

Boon Black label is just a hair under Lambikstoemper IMO. Honestly surprised people aren't hoarding it the same way. I will. I thought it was quite delicious, especially at 8€ a bottle on webshops. Maybe even cheaper locally I guess

Few things will ever beat Lambikstoemper. I managed to secure a bottle in a trade. I will treat it like it is gold.

I got bottles Lambikstoemper when it was still for sale. I like it a lot though I haven't had it since it was first released, so I couldn't say how it's doing now, but I like fresh Black Label even better than I liked fresh Lambikstoemper. I'll probably open another Lambikstoemper in the next few months.
