I'd go with partially responsible. Sudwerk's head brewer, Mike Hutson, helped get their sour program up and running. Mike really turned that brewery around. We'll see what the future holds for Sudwerk as he just left the brewery to head up to Seattle. I think Sudwerk is in good hands though, and wish them the best of luck moving forward.
Without Mike showing the owners that it could be profitable there would be absolutely no program at all. I think that when Mike started it he wasn't the head brewer and when his predecessor left he had to give the barrels up.

Mike did start the barrel program at Sudwerk. He is one of the most talented brewers I've ever met, and and a super nice guy as well. I'm excited to see what his next project will be.
Sudwerk is in good hands with Tom Stull at the wheel.

agree! Hey Phil, Walter here...believe we met at GD50 and/or Phish. We just helped Mike pack up his house this weekend, they're Seattle bound, very exciting. I think Tom will crush it at Sudwerk, and they'll continue to go places.

I noticed that last night. Super excited about this. Although when I looked at the board, it only said bottles. They doing draft as well this time?
And it's being served at the California Craft Beer Summit in Sacramento on September 112th at the beer festival.

Hey Walter! You shared some great beer in the lot at GD50, and I think we talked at both shoreline and the forum. Give a shout if you're in southbay.

Hey Phil, did we talk about barrels at Fermentation Fest last weekend? If so, I sent you an e-mail!

Hoppy and sour might sound like two flavors that wouldn't play nice together, but there is much more to hops than palate-punching bitterness. If you look beyond the IBUs, hops lend a wide range of flavors and aromas, from fruity grapefruit and papaya notes to delicate florals and hints of good 'ole American pine. These characteristics are coaxed out by dry-hopping, adding hops to fermenting beer just before bottling for super fresh and complex aromatics.

Citra Sour is the first in our single-hop sour series. As the name suggests, Citra hops are known for citrusy, fruity flavors and aromas, hinting at grapefruit or even melon and passionfruit. It's a popular hop in big West Coast IPAs, but bold enough to shine solo.

These fruity aromas blend harmoniously with our tart, earthy sour blonde ale, creating a beer that both contradicts and compliments itself

Pumpkin Sour is also back as well as a ginger gose. No mention of the pumpkin barleywine, unfortunately. Hopefully that'll be coming later.

So good. I'm really glad the dry-hopped sour is catching on.

And the Beat b7 shitshorm shall begin!

"Beatification bottles will be released on Sunday, September 20th, the day after the made holiday of Zwanze Day! More details on the Beatfication bottle release in a separate post later."
Just pass out on the sidewalk after Zwanze! You're first 12th in line!

I can see the FB post on Sunday evening already.

"Shocked that you guys would come out and make line and waste your entire day here! How on earth could we have predicted that following an event with one of the most sought after breweries in the world with a bottle release would result in lines going around the block for our little brewery? We continue to be humbled by the turnout for the 5th consecutive year"

Everyone has 3 weeks to practice your BEST "HOLY ****, where did all these people come from?!?" Surprised face for when the 20th hits.

If they just make the limits like 2 Or 3 bottles, they can avoid a similar clusterfuck to last year kinda. Make that **** last all week if possible.
