First day in a week without beermail, aside from Sunday. Don't know what to do with myself when I get home. Maybe I'll break down the box fort. Bottle the saison. Drink some damn beer.

So, it's not so bad I am taking forever to get your box 'o beer to you?

:p

I'd really like to try that, but on my current free case of beer a day schedule, I won't be buying beer until June. Just can't justify it. I gotta slow down anyway. Last night was my first 2 beer night in a week. That's too much.

Maybe I'll try it in June.

First world problems, eh? ;)

I've heard it's a year-round production now, so you've got time.

Okay... not to beat the Austin question to death - given SxSW - should I avoid staying city center and stick to the northern or southern burbs? @PianoMan ?

Stay south, then you can bug out to New Braunfels and punch Hunter in the nose for us.

Nothing but rain here. I'm struggling through my day today though. Beercation starts in a few minutes. No status change on flight so I'm good.

Glad to hear. Friend of a friend lost her rental home in Monroe. Enjoy the sunshine and be safe! Not that I have a vested interest..😀

I have an appointment with an all Brett IPA. Then my coffee RIS, and probably some others. Maybe even the blueberry Riesling someone sent me. Can't recall who...

Edit-it was Helly.

To be honest Austin is still relatively small. Not like you'll be in traffic 2hrs going from one side to the other. But besides SxSW, Mopac aka Hwy 1/loop1 is in the middle of being upgraded. H35 is bad in mid day due to 18 wheelers. 360 also goes n/s, but has lights during the drive. Going from north/south is always more a hassle then east/west.
If you can plan according, recommend staying north or south for the day might be an advantage.

I hope to meet up with him on the drive back to SA.

Don't worry, DrunkleJohn and I are plotting to ambush you once you let your guard down

You need to avoid the city entirely lol

@hunter_la

Hey... My one chance! Even better, grandma is taking the kids for the weekend while the SWMBO and I bug out to Austin.

Hrm... Seems like my options are well North of the city or just south. Beginning to lean to the north, as it looks like I might be able to get a hotel close to some breweries. Wish to gosh Google maps would return two searches on the same map.

Grumble.

Home made seltzer tonight. Beer tomorrow!

Jester King (Stanley's pizza..good chit!), Hops and Grains, Live Oak, Pint House Pizza South, ABGB are all easily attainable south.

Austin Beer Works, Adelbert's, Hopfields, Black Star Co-op, Draught House, Opal Divines, Pint House Pizza North are North.

Bangers and Craft Pride are more downtown.

Caffeine is wearing off and I might have to stay and pull OT. So sleepy. Can't wait for a beer tomorrow!

So I know I'm completely the new kid in the neighborhood who thinks he can ball, but still has to try to prove himself on the street even after getting picked second to last (I hope I'm not picked last compared to one certain friendly friend), but I got an idea. I'll never be able to win the contests. But what if I just become the contest wildcard? Meaning, I enter a contest, and if I win, I get to pick who the contest winner is based on some other random criteria. Like, who had the funniest post of the day. Or who had the most melancholy post of the day (just kidding, we all know who would likely win that one). Etc.

For example, I thought, if I would've won the Buffalo contest, I would've picked DuffMan to receive the prize in my stead because he was the first one to quote/respond to me on this thread.

What is all this no beer today talk? You're certainly not gonna be any friendlier if you skip thirsty Thursday!

Ordering subs in a minute, then playing a game with the kids while enjoying this beer.

I can heartily say that works for me (and my contest). :mug:
