Well, I was planning to drink some waelz blood today, but crooked stave opened at 12 instead of 11 like I thought. Fail. I had some really disappointing hot chocolate instead. So yeah, still no beer pictures from me.
 
And now slaw is on the menu for tomorrow as well. Good call!

Slaw must always accompany smoked butts/pulled pork.
There's a killer recipe for coleslaw I make every time. I'll post it in a bit since I don't have it on my phone. Don't want to give you wrong measurements.

The original creeped me out. Didn't want to force that kind of sleepless night on myself. My mind is very impressionable. I'll allow it flying, horned, demon-cats over whatever that dark place was any day.

Was definitely one of those beverages that lived life longer than it should have, just like Tequiza. My buddies and I always detected sort of a fruity pebbles aftertaste from Tequiza. Weird stuff.

Back to on topic discussions here, for those with experience, how do you prefer to smoke a pork butt? Fat side up or down, and do you flip it at all during the smoke? Making my second one tomorrow and thinking fat down and no flip.


Didn't realize you're a noob too! Today is my second pork shoulder as well. I was told the same as everyone else has already told you, fat cap at the top, and leave it alone.
 
Hey. Smokers. Not to BUTT in, but the big steakhouse I worked at did it... fat on top, seasoned, liquid smoke, 24 hours.
 
I am curious what you all use for a mop?
I have tried a recipe that had vinegar, beer and bourbon with spices mixed together. Then compared it against straight apple juice and never could taste any difference between the 2.

OT water with panda express for lunch. Really wishing 4 would get here faster.
 
I know people have seen Jesus in toast and mayonnaise, but I don't see Jesus on that arse.
