I am curious what you all use for a mop?
I have tried a recipe that had vinegar, beer and bourbon with spices mixed together. Then compared it against straight apple juice and never could taste any difference between the 2.

OT water with panda express for lunch. Really wishing 4 would get here faster.

Fat up, 225 F for at least 1 hour per pound (shoot for internal temp of the Butt to be around 205 when you pull it off).

Mop - I use a mix of whatever rub I put on and apple juice.

Hey. Smokers. Not to BUTT in, but the big steakhouse I worked at did it... fat on top, seasoned, liquid smoke, 24 hours.
Mother of all that is holy why would anyone use liquid smoke for anything anytime on any planet. What steakhouse did you work at, Antichrist Steaks and Chops?

If you must mop, half melted real butter and half apple cider vinegar works well.
Why am I not surprised that gif is in your collection? :p

If trying to just moisten it, I go bourbon with spices or cider. I tend not to use sauce, I rather enjoy a dry rubbed meat.

Rofl. Texas Roadhouse my man. I agree though. That **** was the nastiest thing I've ever worked with and I've had some dirty jobs. Get it on your skin and you smell like death for a few days.

ah heck. having this while grillin' a steak in the damn rain...thanks guys:)

What is all this mop talk?! We arent doing ribs. I wont ever mop a butt. Dry rub only. Bark is supposed to crunch people!

Forgive me if I used the wrong term, I am the only one who owns a smoker in my family and group of friends!
EDIT: Got to have a little crunch when I smoke brisket.

Thanks for the recommendation on what you guys use to keep the meats moist that require it.

Burnt ends = winning
You can double check my math, but I'm certain it's correct.
