....and to think I thought this was a thread discussing alternate methods for bittering beer. LOL
Turns out it's a Party! :mug:

This is a "True" Party!!!

I used 2 lbs. extra-dry drywall compound extract to boost GBV (gypsum by volume) in my drywall True Beer(TM).

It's refreshing to finally have some commitment to the True Science of TrueBeer(tm). Calculating your GBV is critical to designing a repeatable TrueBeer(tm) process.

80 shilling-Baltic-Brett True Beer (tm).

The 80sbbtb is probably the most common first TrueBeer(tm) for home brewers. Commercially it just doesn't make sense, unless you were planning a grand opening of a TrueBeer(tm) centered pub.

I dry drywalled mine on day two. I'm trying to get some biotransformation of the drywall compounds.

This newer technique is in use at a famous Eastern brewery that hasn't been opened yet. I'm sure they would appreciate if you weren't sharing all of their secrets...

No one has mentioned using drywall screws for holding the Gypsum in suspension whilst conditioning.

I've found, that using a tincture of Drywall Nuts alleviates this need, and removes some sharpness from the final product.......

The key here is to cap your mash, cap your boil, and cap your ferment all with the DWE. That prevents all of the paper extraction and leaves you with only True GBV in your TrueBeer(tm).

This is a "True" Party!!!

Truth. +1 for the cat.

Is it True Beer if I'm not wearing drywalling stilts while mashing in, sorry "mudding in"?

youre not only supposed to be wearing them, but also using them to mud in (kind of like a mash paddle for non-true brewers). Its a difficult balancing act, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly

I was thinking about acquiring some vintage construction demo dust, just the thing for an old school traditional True Beer, instead of trying to fake it with the new gypsum formulations.
Input?

Better get a Ward Labs assay on the construction dust or you'll never know the percentages of brick dust, concrete dust, and workersweat that can compromise the gypsum percentages.

1) Almost hopless with lots of hawthorn berries, Neolithic Yellow River Braggot (AKA Dogfish Chateau Jiahu), and completely hopless Chrysanthemum Honey Rye Ale.

2) G.O.A.T.

3) Gary P. Nunn taught me that even London Bridge has fallen down and moved to Arizona, now I know why.

5) Ad hominem: @Pappers is an wannabe organic moderator who uses cats fed GMO cat food to dip in wort for "organic" yeast.

i didnt really read most of the idiot posts, so i never got the humour in this drywall thing. seems pretty massively unfunny, just like most of the people who are keeping this thread alive for some reason

Only one cats opinion. Long live drywall true beer (tm)!!!

Well...it IS your recipe, after all. Don't you remember posting it? You must have deleted the post, but not before we caught on to it.

Real Beer(TM) FTW!

I hear drywall beers are all the rage in North Korea. I hope you can give us all an update on the brewing scene in Pyongyang. Enquiring minds want to know!

In true idiot post tradition, I'd like to point out that there has been more Dry-Wall True Beer™ information disseminated than there has been classic True Beer™ information....

You promised to post some more of sweet, sweet true beer knowledge once we reached 600 posts, that's why we must keep it alive.

You can't really be upset for people keeping the thread alive. It's your thread after all. Is it unfortunate that your biggest contribution is basically just being a tool? Perhaps, but it's your thread after all...

If you haven't read all the posts I can see where you might not be able to follow along. Go back and read the OP the see where the train derailed.

Might I point out that you're the one who bumped this. ;)

I see a lot of talk about drywall.
Historically speaking, True Beer (TM) would have been brewed with lath and plaster and OBVIOUSLY this is the only way to stay true to form.

How's the launch coming? Do you have a website or Facebook page up yet?

Now does it need to be horse-hair plaster and lathe or will any plaster and lathe work? We want accurate information so we can all brew the purest form of True Beer (TM).

And yet you are compelled to make a remark almost 500 posts in thereby keeping the thread going. You do understand the definition of irony, don't you?

BTW the way, I have some very special, Harvey seasoned drywall that came out of my sister's house in Houston if anyone would want any--you just have to pay shipping (no international orders please). :D

Nah, too much trouble to balance the Na ions from saltwater soak, er, pre-mash fish protein rest.

Not an issue -- No saltwater was used and fish proteins are below the measurable threshold. However, I highly recommend the wear of proper PPE when handling though.

OMG I suppose it had to happen, now we'll have non-GMO gluten free low cholesterol politically correct free the nipple low sodium birkenstock 2nd ammendment tree hugging patriotic True Beer movement.

Did I cover enough bases?
I think I covered enough bases.

Whole Foods is gonna be all over this

This popped up today on a Facebook page I'm a part of. He might be legit

Hate to go off-topic here, but I had to Google Culmbacher as I had never heard of it. Apparently it was a dark lager but I can't find anything that would distinguish it from a dunkel or bock.

Now available in kits.... (BYODW)

That is the GMO version of True Brew. Truebrew kits used to grow in the wild (actually a fruit as they grew on a vine), and were much smaller and not as tasty. Eventually only the choice vines were cultivated and eventually grew into trees. These were much easier to grow and due to the grist being much higher off the ground, foraging creatures like deer no longer had access to the truebrew berries and the crops were abundant.

If I could find more, I'd attempt a clone.

I found it referenced in a few books and consular reports that all seem to be around 1890, which is well after True Beer (tm) vanished in the 1400's. It originated in northern Bavaria and had a OG between 1.069 and 1.072. The Bavarian version came in bright and dark varieties but all the American offerings seem to be dark.
