I know this isn't a cocktail board, but the cocktail scene in Northern NJ is really lousy. Dog and Cask has a good menu but most places I go to barely have anything beyond a bevy of vodka cocktails

Any other reco's ? The new place in Clifton?

Barrow House in Clifton is solid. I hear their first place Cowans is also decent.

This place in Rahway seems to have decent reviews. I just want a place that can make good classics.

JC has some spots though. I really enjoyed dullboy

Can confirm (along with Os), the short rib fried rice (and the steak tartare, and the salmon poke, and the crab fries, and the shrimp and grits, and... **** I think we tried like every cocktail on the menu between the four of us) is really really good. Service was also on point. Nice laid back environment. I would go again anytime.

Went to Irving Social for brunch this morning, everything we ordered was delicious, it is tapas style.

Will have to stop in for dinner soon and try this fried rice everyone is talking about.

I'm gonna start putting together a collection of rare seltzers for the event.

And maybe I'll get one of those can-holder helmets and just keep some passion fruit LaCroix up top to help stay hydrated in style.

Yes, I went to both Ship Bottom and Manafirkin memorial weekend. Untappd has many reviews to get an idea. Cool little place
