A lot of folks seem to be into Brick and Feather Brewing, which is an easy stop off 91 just before you get to the VT-Masshole border.

I'm sure you meant food, but that was the first thing that popped into my head.
I made that stop. Unfortunately they only had 2 beers on tap and if you wanted any you have to use their growlers to take home. I have enough growlers.

I really enjoy Brick and Feather but I'm with Tim on the growlers. I just get a pour and then leave since I'm not buying anymore growlers. They had 6 beers on tap both times I went.

Gonna be in Newark for a few days next week (Tu-Th). Pharma stuff.

Looks like I'm SOL with Conclave and Referend. Should I go for Magnify, Brix City, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯?

Pls halp.

Good start for breweries. Carton is open on Wednesday's and Thursday's too.

If you're going to be based in Newark, consider going into NYC by taking a PATH train to Christopher Street, hit up the Blind Tiger, Upright Brewhouse, Milk and Hops, etc.

If you have a rental car:
Bars:
Cloverleaf in West Caldwell
Barcade in Jersey City (can also take the PATH train)
Cowan's Public in Nutley
Paragon in Clark

Take the PATH to JC but go to Wurst Bar instead of Barcade.

Thanks for the pointers! Wish I could do some NYC but probably won't have enough time.

Since I'll have a car, I'm thinking...

Tu: EWR > Cowan's (I'm digging their cocktail menu)
W: Paragon Tap (since I'll be in Rahway) > Magnify > PATH to Wurst/Barcade
Th: bfast/coffee? > Cloverleaf > EWR

All I need to do is fill in something for Thurs morning and I'm set!

Should I allow extra time for weekday commute traffic? Also, I read somewhere that getting through security at EWR is gonna suck. Truth?

EDIT: though I haven't made it clear, I welcome any and all tip touching

That's a solid itinerary right there. The food at Cowan's is pretty good as well. Could potentially be up for tip touching in Jersey City on Wednesday.

****... I live right near Newark but not sure what my schedule looks like next week

Barrow House is indeed the same people as Cowan's. It's also very good, and has *a lot* more room than Cowan's.

I'll add that if you are in Rahway, The Irving Social in Rahway is worth a look, in addition to the Cranford Hotel in Cranford. cc: darehulk112
