Reliving the 80's and watching Stranger Things Episode 1 with my friends kids. Lots of screaming. Imperial Smores StoutView attachment 636519

Such an amazing show! Easily one of those you'll never forget.

I'm trying this sour thing, IM STRUGGLING View attachment 636552

Agreed with everyone else. Back of the mouth puckering guy wrenching ones I cannot do. I always go for fruited sours or less acidic ones.

My first sour was at the time the most expensive bottle I’d ever bought..... and I ended up drain pouring it. I couldn’t do it. But the more I’ve tried the more I’ve gotten to liking it.

I dumped my first Jester King, if my memory is correct (pre-HBT).

2018 HB Bier de Miel (apparently the proper name for a honey saison). Better with age.

2018 HB Brett Grisette. Still too bitter, but I have had that problem constantly building this one out. Held up well. Brett is great for aging.

I bet that Saison is amazing! Save some for the FoTHB :)

Pretty sure I posted this one already, but I've been a few days behind on this thread.

Got my wife an espresso machine for the start of nursing school. It makes a damn good (decaf) coffee.

And an STS from the guys that bring you Pliny. First one - a nice refreshing bitter note.

Got a nice little Irish Red Ale attempt. Brewing in the Middle East I'm limited with space, materials and temperature control so I'm an all extract guy. Turned out very light and clean, hints of a little fruit-cherries and a smooth finish. Not too bitter or strong, probably ended around 4% ABV

750g Pale Malt, 100g Roast Barley, 150g Crystal 30, 150g Melanoiden- steep 20 min
2kg of Pale Liquid Extract Boil for 60 min
30g East Kent Golding for 45min
Nottingham Yeast

Pardon the grainy image and the disheveled apartment!

It went out twice in FotHB. This was my last bottle as I gear up for this year’s brew. I may age the whole batch. Maybe....
