Hi All,

Does anyone bottle and cork their hard cider? I did get some flip top bottles but frankly don’t have anywhere to store 6 - 12 bottles of cider upright. But I do have plenty of wine bottle rack space.

No reason not to store the flip tops sideways (except that any settled sediment will mix when you open them... it doesn't change the flavour, just makes a slightly cloudy appearance and generally this happens anyway if you drain the bottle).

The only issue with flip-tops is that if you have left residual sugar that continues fermenting, the flip tops can leak at over 80psi but that is around 5 volumes of carbonation and very fizzy so corks would blow out of wine bottles unless the bottles have stelvin (screw on) caps.
