Ahhhhhh, Springtime in Oklahoma. The land of hailstones and tornados.

We had a mild spring last year. Not likely again. I can only hope this season passes quickly.

We do need the rain tho'.

I'm visiting your neck of the woods right now. It's warmer than Wisconsin, which is awesome.

Moore is pretty darn close to where I am now. close enough that our hosts hunkered down in their shelter when the Moore tornado came through.

I am up north near the Edmond line, in the shadow of Mercy Hospital.

That is my tornado shelter.

I do want one of those beer can style shelters. Painted to look like a Pullowski Preservation chamber from Fallout 3.

More snow coming for New England tomorrow night. Isn't that fun?

No way- that seems unbelievable!

It's chilly here, but the snow has melted back alot and I see grass. It's brown, but it IS grass. We went to check out our cottage today, and the neighbor had plowed an access so we could go in without much trouble. The lake is frozen of course, but in the yard there are patches where there is little to no snow. Spring may come here this year!

Snow's all melted here. I had to work on the car & farted. But the grass is starting to grow again...must be the methane?:D

I got sunburnt this weekend... No just kidding. It has been nice recently though. Then the temp dropped. But to low 40s, which is still t-shirt weather in my opinion.

I'm a full 15 degrees north of the continental US and I've been outside doing yard work with a t-shirt for the past 2.5 weeks. We are literally on the same level as Alaska (60-70 north).

We bought a pressure washer and SWMBO did both of our cars plus our outdoor table and chairs. We've got bulbs coming up all over the yard. The apple trees will be in bloom soon.

Gulf Stream warm air.

I know an exchange student from Finland who was amazed to find out we usually get -20 Fahrenheit in the winter.

That's -28 celcius - not at all uncommon here, especially in the north and east. Not too common in Helsinki, though. This has been the warmest winter in over 50 years for Finland.

We normally get cold weather in February when the wind reverses and comes from siberia. Didn't happen this year, though. Probably cuz Putin has been blowing so much hot air recently.

She seemed pretty impressed by it. I can't recall what town she was from. most Finnish town have names I could never pronounce, let alone remember!

I just looked it up and she lived in Jyväskylä during her school days. So a bit north of Helsinki. I assumed it got pretty cold up that way myself.

Jyväskylä does get rather fresh in winter, colder than helsinki.

Savonlinna, where I live nowadays gets even colder, but not quite as cold as Lapland(above the pole circle.

In general, south-west finland is "warmer" and the more north or east you go, the colder it will get.

Whilst still in the negative side of cold, we do not generally refer to it as warmer. We simply use fewer expletive adjectives in describing said level of cold.

At least you have your saunas to keep you warm.

If I built a sauna, my friends would think I was turning into some kind of crazy Yooper!

A lot of Yoopers have either FInnish ancestry. They even have an art school there called Suomi College. Suomi means Finland.

I put the snowshovel away two weeks ago and now it's snowing. Jinx. On the bright side, we're only expecting <1 inch and it's supposed to be 35 later today and 40 tomorrow.

This weekend I'll run the gas out of the snowblower and put it in the off-season back corner of the garage and move the lawnmower to the front.

23F & cold as a well digger's bumm again this morning. Supposed to be 40F tomorrow. ^0 wednesday, but thunder boomers. Dang, gotta get car ready for e-check in the cold or the rain.

Nice and cool this morning. Yesterday I managed to get out to the garage and finished washing the last of the 351W cylinder assembly parts.

I'm anticipating it being warmer tomorrow. I hope to have my stuff organized so that I can brew up a Witbier right after work. Maybe get my buddy to help me install the cam bearings in the motor during the mash or boil. He wants to help with the car and he likes hanging out to brew beer.

I need to find some decent yet affordable speakers to hang in the garage. I can see myself out there plenty this summer. Might have to take up cigars and emulate my grandpa...
