They are made of polypropylene which has a melting point of 266-340F. I ran them at 15 PSI in the pressure cooker (250F) and they were fine.
OK, thought I'd misread the description. Thanks much. They are made of polypropylene which has a melting point of 266-340F. I ran them at 15 PSI in the pressure cooker (250F) and they were fine.
Not sure how they helps, in any respect, but whatever rocks your boat. I ain’t in it.Regardless of McMullens opinion, freezing 5mL yeast in 10 or 15 mL vials and building up starters from that does work pretty well for a ton of people. If you’re worried about mutations you can pitch half the vial so about 2 to 3 mL of yeast in a smaller weaker starter and build it up from that. It’s not much more work then over building a starter and putting the extra in the refrigerator. If you want to get more fancy, a centrifuge is only 50 or $60 nowadays.
Not if I corner the market on strains. I'm taking them, then heading to Antarctica. Muwahahahaha. Is 50 too many? Bonus: color-coded caps!
