I've done some research and need some advice to refine my plan. I plan on making 2 gallons of possibly the worst homebrew ever (water, granulated sugar, and brewer's yeast). I have the amounts of everything calculated and the plan is to concentrate the brew after it is done fermenting using a freezer to freeze the water out (and kill the remaining yeast) to about 30% abv. I plan to ferment to about 15% abv and was wondering if there is any way to (cheaply) prevent off flavors. And it will be back-sweetened by a ton of kool-aid powder. Thanks!

Edit: forgot to mention I will be using DAP nutrient. Ideally, I'd like to kinda set it and forget it until its done fermenting

Maybe look into a TOSNA schedule similar to fermenting mead. Just do a web search for “TOSNA calculator”.

What’s the goal? If you’re trying to save money, plastic bottle of vodka is your ticket. If you’re trying to make something, this will do. Some might drink it, I suspect most would not.

Edit, added what I feel is an appropriate link to another members journey down a similar path.

Once you're paroled, you'll be able to make better hooch. ;)

Look into EdWort's Apfelwein. Apple juice from the store, some table sugar, and a $1 packet of wine yeast. You may not get to 15%, but double digit ABV is within reach. And it will taste better than the bathtub swill you were thinking of making.

Edit: Added link for lots of fun and educational reading.

..Seriously though: A departed friend on this site told me that his approx 3-gallons of sugar wash mixed with a gallon of orange juice in a keg and carbonated was surprisingly 'pretty good'.
Welcome to HBT btw! It might help to know what your exact aim is with this: Are you just trying see how strong and cheap you can make a drink? Do you just want to get ripped as quickly as possible? Is this for sharing for a specific themed occasion?
Tell us more.
