The only thing cooler than standing in line is mocking people who stand in line. So fetch.
Meh. I've stood in line, I've not stood in line. It's just always puzzling to me why people care about what other people do with their own time.
And that's not to say that you care. I have no idea. But it's a common refrain. Some people have a burning need to make sure everyone knows that they're too cool for school.
I have no problem with waiting in lines, I still wait in lines sometimes, but that's because I can generally guage that it's necessary to obtain said product. If you get in line 5 hours early, and you could have gotten there 2 hours after they opened, and still gotten the same thing, that's just being dumb.
Why?!If you guys think that's bad, I drove to Troegs today, stood in the lobby for 2 hours, then drove back home, dong in hand.
Just a joke. I hung out and drank almost 3 hours, and was in the area anyway. I saw Mike there so was calling back to the time that I stood in line at BG without getting an allotment. Life is short. Why?!
There must be something wrong with my palate. I have had plenty of New England IPAs but I have yet to have one that tasted like it was worth a five hour wait in line. On a non-IPA but still related note, I once met someone who drove from somewhere in PA to Boston to wait in line for seven hours or so for a beer, and it wasn't even hazy.
I also love the five hour wait guy's quote: "They're all very similar." They're all basically the same beer, so...he feels the need to rush out and wait for several hours so he doesn't miss out instead of going to get cans for a less hyped release...makes sense to me.

Really cool event at Independent today with Arizona Wilderness. Saw lots of local brewers came out to show support and say hi.
Favorites? I really liked the farmhouse rye. I thought it was a beautiful beer and packed a ton of flavor for 4.6%. At the opposite end the American Presidential Stout was really nice and I had a hard time believing it was over 11%.Yes and yes. I was glad to finally get to try some full pours from AZ Wilderness. Being able to go to Voodoo after to a near empty taproom on a double can release day was just a bonus for the night. And kudos to the staff at Independent; they were in the weeds the entire time I was there but still ran things pretty damn well.

I had a seat at the bar, so I was front-row for the madness. They were top notch. It was also my first time getting food from there and I was quite impressed. All in all the Independent is top notch in my book.
"Nice guy Greg"
You guys want to grab a beer? This is a top notch post.
Thanks for the invite BTW.
You guys want to grab a beer?![]()

I was the end of the bar, probably a few down from you on the right. The farmhouse rye is exactly what I was looking for in a beer, flavorful and something that I could drink all day without feeling it. American Presidential struck me as a better version of Prairie Bomb, good body and probably dangerous at that ABV. Did you try the chocolate saison? I was curious about that but I was hearing mixed reaction and didn't want to commit to a glass just to try it.
I was also at the bar, a couple seats to the right of the guys from DG and left when it really started getting slammed. I'll have to make it back their soon, haven't had a bad experience yet and the menu look like a big upgrade over the last time I ate there too.
I am looking forward to checking out their new place when it opens: https://www.loreleipgh.com/

I did not, but a few folks next to me did and everyone said it was really good. I was like a kid in a candy store with all those beers on tap...I didn't know where to go next. I think that beer was 9% and I already had a few of their higher abv offerings so I opted for some of the other lower abv stuff. I also tried like hell not be "that guy" and stare at Untappd to dissect which beers had the best ratings.Did any of you guys try the Sangio Cerveza at the AZ Wilderness event? I had it at the Fonta Flora State of Origin festival and thought it was close to best in show.
