Details aside, I think the fundamentals of earning a man card stem from a man's willingness to:
- do it himself
- do it right
- do it to last
- take responsibility for what he has done
I always love these threads because of how little I can do. Most of this stuff is specialty stuff that no man has any real "need" for in today's world.
Like the following list:
cook 4 great meals well(mine are eggs Benedict, ribs, meatloaf, and a killer fudge brownie)only 4???? And brownies are far from a meal
This is it at the core. ^^^^
However, I must add to the list. A man should be able to...
Shake hands like a man - no limp fish. Stop shaking when opponent's hand is seperated fom his body
Tie his own necktie. The best way to choke a victim. Serial killing is manly!
Dress himself for a funeral I've been waiting YEARS for a function to wear that Hawaiian shirt!
Balance his own checkbook On his nose while drinking a yard of ale....easy!!
Write a letter FU (oops! that was two letters)
Give a compliment You have a nice tight ass man! I would totally do you if it were not for your HIV
Make a toasted cheese sandwich then eat it with a can of sardines.
I think the key components for a Man Card are:
Provide for your family (be it hunting, building shelter, or being a great business man to financially set yourself up to provide)
Accept help from those who can
Help those who Cannot (truly unable)
Put those who deserve it before yourself.
Respect
Love
But in the spirit:
Operate a handsaw While drunk
Own a power saw (or a neighbours)
Make a 90° joint and smoke it
Sweat copper instead of actual sweat
Attempt to fix everything himself first even if it causes a bigger problem I can soooo do that!!
Drive a Stick and putt a twig
Operate a Motorcycle Operate!!?? seriously? OPERATE!!?
Cook Meat Friction burns on your willy don't count
Brew Beer What forum is this again?
Out-fart your wife. I lose.

Wasn't it the woman that historically were the brewers in the family?
Number one requirement for a man card is always being ready to take responsibility for anything you have done, and be ready to face the consequences. Trying to weasel out of responsibility's is for kids and cowards.
:rolls eyes:
Not a one of those made me feel more of a "man" than knowing who I am is
fair and honest, and that I try to understand myself and others.

Um, can I see your card? I just need to check the ...........the stamp, yeah the stamp. =snatch!
Just kidding, I agree with you 100%.

number 1 requirement for a Man Card, Be able to properly use the QUOTE tool. I mean for gods sake, it does it for you. You literally have to TRY to mess it up![]()

I think once you edit it it takes the block away. I edit so my point is clearer, or at least that is my intention.
well my brew buddy and I were talking about things that a guys should just either be able to or know how to or just should do. so it made me wonder what everyone on here thinks is necessary to retain their man card. a few of them that we came up with;
Drive a manual transmission (this was very high on the list for some reason)
be able to use just about anything as a bottle opener
BBQ at a moments notice
parallel park
anything you want to add?
zero a rifle
dope in a scope
clean/use a handgun, pistol, rifle at a decent level
drive fast, safely (track days or live in Germany)
Fish
clean a fish
do an oil change
cook 4 great meals well(mine are eggs Benedict, ribs, meatloaf, and a killer fudge brownie)
First aid
change a tire
start a fire
build simple shelter
know how to clean/find water
change brake pads on a car, both disk and drum
how to swim
I would like to have. I don't have a cement drill bit, for example (don't even ask about that "little" project).
,That would be called a masonry bit.......Man card revoked, girly girl!![]()

and you probably would want to use a hammer drill.
