Are there a lot of Lambics that aren't distributed in the US? Might be worth to trade some internationally

Spontanbasil wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but calling I would never call it tasty. Maybe if you drink only a tiny little glass? A friend and me shared a bottle and 1 glass was more than enough. If I don't want to drink a whole bottle by myself then it's not a tasty beer.

Yeah I kind of agree with this--I thought it was very interesting to try, and would agree with the above comments that it's a great beer to pair with food and becomes much more drinkable that way. But it was a real struggle splitting a 750ml bottle between two of us. Works much better as a small pour like an aperetif, or as something to sip on with food. Would've been better bottled in 375ml bottles for sure, but moral of the story for those who haven't tried it, open the thing over dinner or at a tasting with lots of people.

They have opened up West coast shipping again. Said they had sorted out the issues at LAX.
Yeah, because customs won't still reject illegal shipments of alcohol.

More like the percentage of rejected shipments has dropped from "most of them" to about 20% (at least according to Etre).

had the same thought when I read the email. Are they writing "NOT BEER" in giant letters on the boxes now or something?

I do think they ditched the highly recognizable packing tape.

I split it with sliverx and trxxpaxxs. We opened a fair number of bottles over a 4+ hr period and had food as well. If I remember correctly we opened it early on. I certainly wouldn't want to dome a bottle, but I enjoyed it and wish I had another.

How's Cuvee Lambikstoempers right now? Open now or sit on a bit longer?

Were any gummy bears harmed in the consumption of that zenne? If not, im very disappointed with all 3 of you...

I've had Cuvee Lambikstoemper 3 times since it was released. The last time I had it was back in August. When it was "fresh" it was very grassy/hay, with some funk and a nice mineral quality to it. As of August, a lot of those same characteristics are there, but it's definitely picking up on the more tart green apple/lemon quality. It also seems to be a more rounded geuze at this point.

I doubt any of my other bottles will make it past the next year, so I have no idea about long term aging, but I'm sure it will get to a really nice place in the future. That said, if you have one, and have not tried it yet, open it up. You'll be happy you did.

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, I guess. I domed my first bottle all by my lonesome and then I've shared a couple with my sister (who like me loves both sour beers and basil).

posted a few minutes ago, these guys are definitely getting fed up but who can blame them?
Pierre Tilquin Chase, this is probably something you don't want to believe, but it is not the first time that the guys at Belgiuminabox empty the stocks of rare lambic beers in local belgian beer shops. They did it for my beers (Mûre and Questche with Prunes de Namur) in May. I tried to offer an equivalent number of boxes of my Quetsche and my Mûre to all local Belgian beer shops (5 boxes of 37,5cl and 75cl of each beer for every shop), and then webshops like Belgium Beer Box or Specialbeershop or EtreGourmet, they came to these shops and bought everything in one time, saying for example that they own a small shop in Antwerpen. And then those beers are sold to crazy lambic lovers, instead of being bought by Belgian consumers, one bottle at a time. I make the effort to sell 2 full containers of my beers to US per year. Therefore, I don't understand why US lambic lovers can't wait that my beers come stateside to get them. By buying lambic beers on internet, you encourage the purchase by the webshops of our beers in local stores, so you decrease the access to our beers for Belgian consumers. Furthermore you encourage the creation of new webshops and the problem increases more and more. There is no webshop which is an authorized seller of my products. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but I'm tired...

Funny thing is the specialbeershop was my hidden spot for lambic, they always had a good supply. Just checked and they are sold out of just about everything. As much as he pissed at them, he just increased their clientele 10 fold.

Is this where I get to say, "Julian, please"?

Yes, and unlike some people lately that have just been using it as a punchline to gather likes, it was appropriate here. :) I want a few 3F glasses and considering the shipping costs I'd grab some extra 3F bottles to round out a box, but I have no interest in making ordering from Belgium a regular thing.

Ya cause you have never posted something just for likes.

Julian, please.
