Potentially big news for Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René fans in the U.S! The TTB approved an import label just two weeks ago! No official announcement yet from MdV though.

Great news. I'll have to get a case discount from the mega liquor stores like I did when Boon MP came to town. I recently had my first CV Kriek, and it was a beautiful beer for 5 Euro off Etre.

Should be shelf turd status since no one seems to know about the CR Gueuze around here.

Why can't the farmers be the one to start driving up the trade value for the vintage? :p
Old McDonald had a farm E-I-E-I-O!
And on his farm he had a schaerbeekse Cherry tree E-I-E-I-O!
With a Kriek, Kriek here and Kriek, Kriek there
Here a Kriek, There a Kriek, Every where a Kriek, Kirek
Old McDonald had a farm E-I-E-I-O!

I certainly don't remember the song going like that but it's been a few dozen years since hearing it...

Bad times: out of 14 bottles of the new Golden Blend I had 4 that leaked badly enough to warrant cleaning the bottles off.

Good times: chilled down the most offending of the 4, and it was ******* delicious.

I had a very similar experience a few weeks ago. Of the 6 bottles that I ordered, 3 leaked, and one leaked considerably. So much that the label was soaked and coming off. I put it in the fridge and opened it a couple days later, and it was wonderful! Absolutely no damage done.

I'd been wondering how common this was. Of my 4 bottles of Golden Blend, one leaked slightly and another leaked seriously. The liquid level is at least an inch lower than the rest and it had a nice layer of mold on the whole bottle when I unwrapped it.

All three of my were pre-cumming. Had to wash them down with slop sink then star san.

Has anyone had issues placing large orders of BiaB going through customs? My beer crew wants to do a group buy of 4 volume pack boxes of 3F gueuze. I've never ordered more than 2 boxes in one shot and just curious.

I have ordered 2 at the same time and the first one that hit customs arrived last. not sure why but it seems to have been held up shortly and made it through without any communication. Why not just have them shipped several days apart and to different addresses

So Total Wine near me has a bunch of December 5, 2012 bottles of 3F OG.

I bought a bunch of that bottling (375ml bottles) and honestly, it's been the most disappointing OG bottling I've had. Although it's certainly better now than when it was fresh, it's still not nearly as good as fresh bottles from last year were.

Well that's disappointing to hear. I only bought one 375 ml anyway, but planned on going back for more.

Well, try it and decide for yourself obviously, ymmv. My disappointment with that batch after buying lots led me to buy very few 3F bottles for a while and focus on Cantillon and De Cam. Was shocked at how much better the new bottles were when I started buying them again last year.

if you are all going in on it together, i'd order from 4 different spots so that if they all hit at the same time it isn't like they are all going to the same source. that way, hopefully you minimize your risk for getting slammed. if you do all 4 to one spot, i would bet money that it will end up getting stuck and you'll have to pay some sort of customs fee.
