I berwed a Oktoberfeast on 4/29 and frementated it at 52 deg for @ 2 weeks and then racked into secondary. I had it in the secondaryat 38 deg. for @ 5 weeks now and planed on keeping it in the secondary for several months befor bottling.

The question is will it still carbonate in the bottle after this extended time or
should I bottle it then lager the bottle.
Will I have to add additional yeast at bottling to get the carbonation that is needed.
Being my first lager I am just learning.

From everything I've been reading on this subject (I'm also new to lagering and in the middle of primary stage currently): You might be ok since you didn't get the yeast as cold in secondary as many do. HOWEVER, they say it is a good idea when bottle carbing to go ahead and add some yeast in. You can use a 1/4 package of dry yeast or some left over from another batch, etc since the flavors for your beer have already been imparted. This new addition of yeast will simply help in carbonating your beer and should not produce any definitive off-flavors.

Hope that helps :mug:
