Just drank a Belgian Strong with Cherries from poptarts. Damn good beer, and you all know how much I dislike Belgian profiles.

Wait what? There are better places to get cherries.

Anyway glad you liked it. I have a cherry sour in the cellar. I have a lot of stuff in the cellar.

I need to move the cellar.

I have so much beer.

You done good f'real.

Congrats mate. That does sound like a good day. Homemade delicious Pizza like I think you posted in the cooking thread?

Yup that's the pizza to which you refer. Wife and daughter are taking me to a pub we like for dinner tonight too. The place is run by a South African guy and his Austrian wife which makes for a great mix of "bush tucker" and German beers

Rest assured I'll be eating crocodile, horse, antelope, ostrich and mouflon medallions cooked on a hot rock at the table whilst quaffing some dunkels. If I'm feeling brave I'll have a candied scorpion for afters. :ban:

Morning coffee. Didn't realize that big ricc was 10% last night. Prob a poor choice for a night vap

Drinking coffee and catching up. I was so worn out last night from 3 practices in less than 24 hours. Not in great shape. Missed the conditioning drill by a couple of seconds both times. Pretty pissed about that, but now it's time to kick my ass in gear.

Brewing my Rye Pale Ale today. I've pretty much given up on clever names. My ESB in the keg right now is called "ESB v2.0." Pics of that to come I'm sure.

The pilsner that I posted a pic of last night is pretty good. I'll probably try it again today. I made it a little less bitter as far as OG:BU ratio than is recommended. And focused on the chlorides in the water. Nice malty flavor with a background bitterness. Once it clears completely and gets nice and crisp, I think I'm really going to enjoy it.

Had a bunch of Two Hearted at the bar with the crew after our first game of the season. We lost 2-0. Oh well. They were an established team with a plan, this was our first match as a side, and once we got ourselves figured out we were better in the second half, keeper was good, the girl who's a former college player settled in as center back and was great at it, I ended up playing left wing (where I'm comfortable) and striker (where I'm not) most of it, had a few good breaks and chances myself (one where I had their keeper beat, but just wide), but nothing to show. Fun either way. I missed playing and this is going to be a regular thing now (and adjusting my workout schedule accordingly).

Also no injuries for me. So there's that.

Home now, drinking my Brett L Kriek. With a few extra months in the bottle, this is actually alright. Not my best work, and needs more cherry, but it's decent.

Sounds awesome. I've had so much fun since I started playing this past fall for first time since high school (15 years ago). You playing outdoors? Full field? I find it's such a better workout than anything I can manage to do on the treadmill/elliptical too.

Been a pretty productive afternoon so far. Cleaned up the kitchen. Got my water and additions ready. Dirtied up the kitchen again. Waiting for the water to get those last few degrees, then it's mash in time!

Found this guy at the top of one of the bags of grain.

@slym, apparently rye is just one tough sob. Pretty much none of it was crush coming from the LHBS. Then my blender couldn't really do much either. Expecting poor efficiency. Might mash for 90 mins to see if it helps. Chill brew day, so the extra time won't kill me.

Hey anyone here going to, or thinking of going to, the Upland Sour/Wild/Funk fest in June? Looks like I'll be doing a little beercation this summer and will stop for a night in Chicago (likely three floyds area) along the way.

9v9, outdoor turf, slightly smaller, but not tiny. Cold and rainy yesterday but after a bit you don't even notice.

How is the snow coming?

Just finished a plate of fat (biscuits and gravy at the hotel), and girding my liver for another day of Austin breweries. Austin Beer, blue owl and others today. Live oak on the way out tomorrow. And possibly pinball at a byob place this evening.

What snow? Dry here.

Brewing up an impromptu saison today. Bout to shower/heat strike water after having one of the best breakfasts I've even cooked or probably had anywhere. Breakfast quesadilla! Took two fried/scrambled almost cooked eggs and put that on top of a layer of shredded pepper jack, then topped the eggs with sliced chipotle chicken and more cheese. Absolutely incredible. Why is this not more common?!

Missed my mash temp by 2C - 69 instead of 67. After 40 minutes of mash time, stirring at 20 and 40, I'm dropping one degree every 20 minutes. Smells great.
