Cheers! Now let the other one take a breather from its quick journey so it doesn't foam up all crazy like that on you.

Going in sick again today. Luckily we are just cleaning so it wont be as fast paced today.

It really didn't, I poured that from about a foot and into the bottom of the glass to get those aromatics going, I generally do that in the snifter since there is more than enough room for the head.

Come on man.

Really though, I know... but I'll drink your beer whenever I damn well please. :D

Full Thrattling, boss out... about to get nothing done today.

I'm in Montco, and it seems like it's just me that got reassessed, not a county or locality defacto tax rise.

I've never had to, but my boss has done it several times.

I think there is just a form to fill out and you may have to go in front of someone to plead your case.

Apparently he's always got it back down. Not much help I know, but didn't sound to laborious. Of course, this is South Dakota.

Definitely no news on county wide reassessment. I'd call them and ask what they dealy-o is. Seems strange that they would do your house on random...unless its county practice to do a reassessment every few years for every property, which could be the case. How long ago did you move in? Any inkling on when your neighbors had their last assessment? It should be a matter of public record, if you want to dig into it.

Thanks, I might do it. It isn't costing me much money, but it's the principle. Why randomly reassess for a bogus reason?

My whole neighborhood hasn't been reassessed since '97 unless someone did a major project like build a new garage where there wasn't one before.

Edit: On a possibly related note, I did get busted replacing my roof without a permit, they could be retaliating, haha.

Have any of you ever appealed a reassessment of your home? I don't know why I got reassessed. The public records search shows that the reason is "CENTRAL AIR/HVAC" but I haven't done anything with those systems since I moved in 8+ years ago. I did just put a new roof on, but several neighbors have done that too and not been reassessed...

Wondering what is involved in appealing a reassessment.

Just call the assessors office and ask - for Monto I'd imagine they have an online form you can fill out.

No breakfast since I'm going to have to run out to the drug store in a few since my son still has a fever. Definitely not going down tonight, but hoping the fever will break this morning and if he's good through the night, maybe join tomorrow (no other symptoms other than the fever)

Why so much hate?

Lately I havent found their beers good. Their drinkable but no where near a world class brewery. Plus the Snobby attitude they have gets very annoying. Plus seems people in other states get their beer more easily than me. That is why I want to open a brewery to knock them down a peg or two. Most of their beers are very watery and cant taste anything that they said they in there.

Cuz they get busy and it pisses DC off. Poor fella. :D

^This. lol

Only time I had to appeal was right after I bought my first house. Got it lowered because I bought it much lower than it was previously assessed at. So I've been through that but I'm not much help on what you're describing. I would guess the mechanics of it are similar (appeal to a review board, appear before them, plead your case, show them pics and docs, etc) though, but I'm sure that varies by state and municipality.

So, I called them and got the scoop, I think I was right about them targeting me for the lack of a roof permit. When they came to my house to scold me, they snooped around outside, saw that I have central air which wasn't in my last assessment (from '97) and that triggered the reassessment. Jerks.

I always wondered if this would be a risk when using the same strain of yeast/mixed culture for years. It's got to mutate a lot and change your beers over time.

I think they banked the yeast so they should be able to get a fresh strain when they need it. Using the same yeast makes all your beer taste the same. Very little variations in beer. Their new beer Simple Means is an "smoked farmhouse alt" beer. To me that is not an alt beer because they do not use a strain that an alt use. Its just a smoked amber farmhouse. Plus lately their beer that were sour when they first release are not ever tart now. Just getting tired of hunting beer and just do not care to get their beers anymore. Not saying I'm not buying ever just not going out of my way.

Found my new tinder profile pic.

I've done it many times. But that is a very state specific process. Doubt I could give any useful tips if you're not in Michigan.

EDIT: unless you just bought the house, I wouldn't even consider doing it here without a licensed appraisal. Usually cost $300-$500 for a residential property appraisal.

[The cold night ends as the morning sun pierces through the clouds. The smell of smoldering campfire and burnt meat permeates your nostrils. You brush the frost from your bedroll and sit up to scan the makeshift campsite. Bottles lay strewn across the wet grass. Dehydrated, you reach for your waterskin. It's empty. As you realize the rest of the Friendly Friends are nowhere to be found, dreaded images race through your mind. What happened last night? Bottles clank in the tent behind you and the all too familiar snicker of a goblin can be heard coming from inside. It is completely unaware of your presence as it rifles through loot from previous adventures.]

I cautiously unroll my bedroll and sneak towards the firepit... the few logs left are smoldering away yet and one in particular looks well-suited to be a club. I take a scrap of leather off of my pack and use it to grab the still smoldering log and admire the burnt embers on the opposite end.

My blanket in one hand, burning club in the other, I approach the tent... attempting to throw the blanket over the goblin and beat him mercilessly.

Beautiful.

Is that from your magnum opus, after the band of dwarves exit the Misty mountains? I'm genuinely curious. Please don't cat-gif me.

Always making me dictionary.com words. The learning never ends with you does it? Hahah.. Nah. I was just feeling weird, knew it would be a slow day at work and thought I'd throw some geekstuff at the thread and see if anything stuck.
