I have a beard, I have an engineering mind but no training and not in the trade, and I totally sniff airlocks.
I drive a '95 saturn SL. 188k on the clock.
100 hp when it left the factory almost 17 years ago.
Manual transmission, power nothing, no power steering, no cruise.

I got it for free 3 years ago, and I'm the 3rd person to get it for free. I fully intend to drive it till the wheels fall off.

I do see a trend, though it's only a trend and not perfectly correlated. Homebrewers seem to be somewhat more independent than people on average. To find a Willys, an Audi TT, a restored Mini Cooper S, a restored Mustang... To find this many very un-average cars in this small a sample space seems to say Homebrewers aren't satisfied in general with boring sedans any more than they are satisfied with BMC.

1999 Lexus GS400
2000 Sequoia
1967 Meyers Manx.

I also have a beard and am a bit of a nerd. I drive an 05 subaru outback XT that I tuned for a bit more boost. I'll be looking to buy a 1970's classic mini some time early next year to help with the awful gas mileage of the outback.

2000 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100cc is my daily commute in good weather. Otherwise, I ride an all-electric, 1,000-passenger CTA train around town. Cars in Chicago are a hassle.

No beard, have the engineer mentallity without the paper, and I love the smell of my airlock. Daily is a 2002 Infiniti G20 for me, 2006 Nissan Xterra for her.
My "other" hobby/addidction has always been cars. Currently have a 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans-Am 20th Anniversary edition.

I preferr to not shave and not have a beard and i have a Glaciar White 95 subaru legacy 200+k and still pacin. From 2001,great investment.

I'm a hybrid sorta geek - former web developer turned business analyst working for a software company. The software engineers like dealing with me because they don't have to dumb down their questions or concerns when they come to me.

I drive a 99 Altima with a smushed-in passenger side door. It's only got 80k miles on it, but the under carriage will probably rust out before the engine gives up.

Somday (if the economy ever recovers) I'll buy myself a Mini Cooper.

The N or Q train often followed by the 2 or 3. Usually standing, reading a free newspaper and checking out the girl in the bench seat in front of me (only human).

It still has a long way to go and I haven't driven it in years. I picked it up in 92 and it was my daily for a few years in Denver. Motor is done, so is tranny, just needs dropped in, rewired, gas and brake lines, exhaust, finish the dash, install gauges, add another 2.5" of lift, 33x10.50s and the interior done. She's a Summer cruiser, no top, never putting it back on. Gotta figure out which bank I'm robbing to make it all happen :)
If we move soon, I'll probably end up selling it and taking a huge loss, but I'm not towing it across the country and trying to finish this project while starting new somewhere else.

If you end up selling, I know a couple guys here in Memphis that would be super interested.

Nice JK. What lift you going with?

I drive an old 98' S10. Great truck. Paid $2500 for it...

You can drive your brand new rig and look cool, but I'll be retiring in my late 40s.

:mug:

Wife: '08 Dodge Caliber SRT4, MS1 PCM and MPx downpipe. (Turbo 2.4L, 6 speed, and comes with the same tires as a new Vette)

Don't have a shot of our car, other than with us in front of it. Looks the same though.
Me: '01 Dodge Dakota, 3.9 V6 & 5 speed, roller rockers and Rust-Back exhaust. Used to be dual out a Flowmaster 40 with 3.5" tips, but salt and heat have taken their toll.

The truck is my daily when I don't ride my Harley and the older Camaro is my drag toy. The new SS is my wifes daily. :rockin:

I drive an Audi A4 Quattro Turbo
Missus drives a Lexus RX330

I have had a LOT of great cars in the past when I lived in USA, but once I got out here they got a LOT more expensive and half the power!

Australia? I always figured the Holden cars would be priced on par with our Camaro/Mustang types. Plenty of power there.

Yep, the top Holden and Ford Pushrod driven V8's (with 4 doors) are wicked fast and wicked expensive. A Holden HSV Ute or 4 Door will run you around $70K, and it's basically a family car with lots of plastic, and 400HP. Same for the Fords. SO I guess my earlier comment about half the power is incorrect, if you want a wicked powerful, gas guzzling shoe box. LOL

On the other hand if you want a great handling import like an A4 Quattro Turbo, with not too many options, have $85K ready.. same with the Lexus. And you can go up from there. A 7 series BMW STARTS at $175K.

That Holden Monaro (Pontiac GTO) that you guys had a few years back cost over $80K here.

'02 S10 Blazer lowered 2/3. Blacked out (except headlights and turn signals) with a Pennywise logo on the back glass. Shaved passenger side door.

I drive a variety: 95 Jeep Cherokee, 02 Olds Bravada, 05 Toyota Camry. And then this, a 2010 Surly Long Haul Trucker....

Doing some work to it next year, not fast enough yet...

No such thing as fast enough. I have a 2007 Mustang GT with a couple goodies but nothing serious. New exhaust, suspension, cold air intake and a custom tune. Tough to balance the disposable income between hobbies...
