Wow. Imagine my surprise watching the Falmouth Road Race yesterday when I saw this flash of silver, white, and pink and this amazing sense of being near real power washed over me. I saw the crowd all turn to see what it was, but alas, it was too fast for human eyes to see. I had a hunch though. The Masstoberfest Cup was in Town I bet!

There was no way that sly fox Melana was letting Sambu beat her now that she has the Masstoberfest Cup. That Cup gave her such amazing powers of speed that she crossed the finish line before they even had the finish line ready. That's ok, it made Sambu feel better to break the tape even though he lost by a mile.

Where will the Masstoberfest Cup show up next I wonder?

Oh for gods sake Yoop. There are going to be plenty of people at Masstoberfest All the lurkers here show up out of the woodwork for the free food and beer.
I'll even arrange a tour for you of a local nano that I know. I'm friends with the owner and it's just a few minutes drive away. Maybe you've heard of them, Blue Hills Brewery?

That would be nice, but as always, not required.

If I could put aside the PTN asshat persona for a moment and just be Paul.

For those of you who are Masstoberfest virgins, I work on a per diem basis for Boston Health Care for the Homeless and one thing we never have enough of is clean dry socks. I ask everyone who comes to consider bringing a bag of adult sized athletic socks along. It is not required and no one will say word one if you don't. We all have our own financial and philosophical circumstances. I get that and it's cool. But if you want to help and in a very real direct way bring along some socks. I bring them down to Pine Street and put them into our clothes closet. I was there yesterday and grabbed something out of that closet and noticed it's pretty bare. And as Ned Stark says Winter is Coming.

Thanks

Now I'll go back to being PTN.
Hey Cape, GFY.

Ok, that'd be great.

I was just thinking. You were in Austin when I was, about 6 miles away, but you were "tired" and went back to your hotel instead of coming to our little party. But I could fly halfway across the country to come see you and go to your little party. That seems a bit unfair if you ask me. I guess it's a good thing you didn't ask me. :D

No one asked you. And besides, it wasn't really me. It was my friends wife who was the wet blanket. I just took the blame and made up a stupid excuse since we still had to spend the next four days with her. She was a little dismayed at the amount of drinking the rest of us were doing, her hubby most of all. Sometimes you've got to be considerate of everyone. I usually try to avoid that but sometimes it's the prudent thing.

Good point! You missed some great BBQ though.

And there may have been a little drinking as well. I know I brought homemade wine, and a friend or two may have brought a keg or two.

Didn't have time to read the whole thread, but could the original post be updated with more specific information about this event? Where is it? Does the venue support electric brew rigs (doubt it but would be good to know)? How many brewers attend? Thanks!

The event is held at Paul's house. He might have electricity for you but he always has water. Send Paulie a PM and he'll send you the address.
Hope you can make it!

And if you do come than we will have one more brewer. Last year we had.......... Ok. Help me out here......

Smurf brewed a steinbeir
Dakota brewed a speed of light beer
Melana brewed
Daddy men brewed
Lizardeye brewed
Did Mort and the_bird brew?
Who else? It seems like there were more but the combined effects of the subsequent year's alcohol intake has dulled my memory.

Smurfie used his rocks to boil wort.
the_bird did infact brew.
Dakota proved that you can make beer, nap at the opera, and still impregnate the wife.
I believe Mort drove down from New Hampshire just to drink.
Paul - did you brew?

Hey Yoop. Did you get a dog sitter and tickets yet?

You mean Toby can't come? Geez. And I thought everybody was welcome.

No, I cooked a hawg.

I can brew a wicked pissah beer or I can cook a wicked pissah awesome BBQ hawg. But I've successfully proved over the years that I can't do both at the same time

I would rather have some awesome hawg. I can make my own beer. (You can do that at home these days, you know).

By the speaking of which, did you actually get tickets yet? We have a solid half dozen people who have "By the end of August" in the "When is Yooper going to bail out?" pool. The next big spike in betting is "By Labor Day." Lots money on the line here.

I don't have a second cousin getting married in Indiana. I don't have grandkids whose birthdays fall that weekend. I don't have to work. I have no valid excuse this year.

I bet Paul could sell tickets to Masstoberfest if you were showing yours Yoop!

Ha- that would be a real "show and tell", wouldn't it!?!? It'd be like a Halloween party then, with people screaming in fright.

That reminds me of something! A few years ago, we were at our friend's camp. He has a 3000 acre parcel with a cabin on it, with several deer blinds all over. His brother and nephews all hunt there. Well, we were bombing around in a Jeep, and stopped into a blind to check out the porn there.

Paul (not PTN, but they are similar in many ways) had a ton of mags in there. One was "mature Asians" and one was "mature beauties" or something like that.

OMG, that was one of the most pathetic displays of naked flesh I've ever seen.

And those women were "beauties". Gravity has not been nearly as kind to me- I'd need so much airbrushing that paint would be in short supply. Even I don't want to see me naked- I wouldn't subject anyone to such a horrific sight. Although, maybe it's like a bad car wreck. You don't want to look, but when it's right in front of you, you can't help yourself. And then regret it with all of your might. :D

It's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for. Everyone knows to watch out for the crazy bastids. If s bunch of hookers ever turn up missing around me my shed will be a training film for the FBI by the weekend. Even if I've outsmarted them and moved the 'evidence.'

But Bulls Beers? His neighbors would all stand in their driveway talking to CNN saying, "He was a quiet man. I never suspected."

There goes Yoop telling "The porn in the duck blind" story again.

Ya Yoop, we get it. You and Bob had a 'Deliverance' meets 'Last Tango in Paris' Cialis moment hiding in a duck blind in the boonies. Really. It's ok. Whatever makes your decoys quack.

Deer blind, not duck blind.

Geez, a duck blind is in da water doncha know? I done dere tole you dat a couple two tree times, twice already. Cripes sake.
