    Hop leaves in the bottle

I bottled a 90 min ipa clone last night. I dry hopped directly in the primary. I've dry hopped with no muslin bags before and did it for this batch. The 90 minute ipa clone called for a large amount of hops to dry hop with. When transferring to the bottling bucket I did my best to not get hops...

    Barley wine with no Carbonation

I bottled a barley wine about four weeks ago. I primed with bries light dme as suggested as a substitute for corn sugar to give a longer lasting head. Week 3 at 70*f I tried a bottle and it has no carbonation. I Tried agitating the bottles and raising the temp to 73*f. Tried a bottle on week 4...

First all grain. What went wrong

Mabey that's it. I didn't stir it. I took the sample from a spigot at the bottom of the pot. Mabey the heavy wort settled at the bottom? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Home Brew mobile app

First all grain. What went wrong

I was making a dogfish head 90 min ipa clone. Mashed 16 lbs 8 oz pilsner 2 row Belgian and 1lb 10.7 oz amber malt @ 159*f for an hour. Sparged @170 and ended up with about 6.5 gallons. Recipe called for 7.5 gallons of wort pre boil. I took a sample and cooled it to 75*f and had a pre boil...

    High fermentation after a month.

I made a hard cider or apple wine about a month ago. It was a gallon of simple apple. I added a lb of corn sugar. I know that a lot. I wanted a high abv. I used a third a pouch of us-05 I had lying around. It started fermenting like crazy after 12 hours. Now a month later its still fermenting...

    Final gravity ?

I forgot to take my FG reading before adding my priming sugar. With the sugar it was 1.017. Any one know how much 5oz of corn sugar in 1 cup of h2o will add to the reading. Its not a big deal just wondering. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Home Brew mobile app

    Just oxygenated my beer :(

Since I oxidized the beer it seems to have jump started the yeast again. The recipe also calls for an addition of champagne yeast. Will this take care of any oxygen? This what the beer looks like 12 hrs later. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Home Brew mobile app

    Just oxygenated my beer :(

I brewed a barley wine two weeks ago. Last night I was transfering to a seconday. I put a muslin bag on the end of my syphon to reduce sediment transfer. Well it put a restriction on the syphon. The syphon started sucking in and mixing lots or air with the beer. 2-3 gallons were probably aerated...

    Mr beer hasn't reached FG

I brewed a Mr beer Api Ipa kit about two and half weeks ago. My OG was inline with the recipe at 1.084 after two and half weeks the gravity has only reached 1.028. I took a gravity reading after the first 10 days and it was 1.030. In an additional week it only dropped .002. The recipe's FG is...

    Fermintation temp problem?

I know its still in the temp range for the yeast. I'm just worried about it being too hot for the barley wine. It already has such a high abv . I don't want to end up with realy hot tasting brew. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Home Brew mobile app

    Ten days in the bottle.

I just tasted on of my beers of the same kit . It was in the fermenter for two weeks. Bottled with the mr beer sugar pills for 10 days. It has plenty of carbonation, decent head, and tastes as expected. I would describe it as a malty selzerer water. Tastes like any cheap 40oz malt liqour. No...

    Fermintation temp problem?

I finished my first two batches of brew last night. One a barley wine 1.110 OG and one a double ipa 1.078 OG. I put them in a room at 63*f and set a space heater to 63*f. I checked on it today and the dang space heater warmed the room to 70*f. I put a probe on the buckets and one was 72*f and...
