I'm hooked on yeast washing. It isn't hard, and can save a lot of money. The only downside has been the wife saying, "MORE mason jars of yeast in the fridge!" Oh well, it's a money saver.
I was wondering if the below would work, or cause any problems:
Instead of boiling the jars in water, filling with the boiling water and cooling...
Sanitize with star san, and use distilled water at room temp. In other words no boiling. That is the longest hardest part. Actually the hard part is ensuring I've done that ahead of time so I can keg when I'm ready. I've had to delay kegging a couple times because I forgot to have water ready.
