Hey all, getting ready to do my first cider. Starting off small with a gallon batch. Im keeping it simple using just cider, no other spices or sugars. My question are your opinions on the best yeast for cider and how much yeast do I need for a one gallon batch. Thanks :mug:

Safale S-04, Lavlin K1V-1116, Lavlin EC-1118, Montrachet Wine Yeast all those in no special order work well.

I have used 1116 and 1118 and my next batch is going to be S-04

If you want it soft, try Lalvin 71-B narbonne, it will ferment a certain amount of malic acid (what makes apples tart) into alcohol... With ANY yeast, your cider will end up dry. Regards, GF.
