Coastal Craft Kombucha is closing after 10 years. WTH? I don’t get it. They’re in Whole Foods and so many other places.

I noticed recently that a health food store in Sayville no longer had the ability to fill growlers with booch, though I have no idea what supplier it was.

Ya’ll are invited, meetings are free. I’m bringing a couple of 1# bags and an 8 oz bag of hops for a $5 raffle, and several packets of dry yeast including the new Brett from Fermentis and Lutra. These are in addition to our usual 50/50. Three chances to win, $5 each time. We tend to arrive @7 to get a beer and socialize, then we break out some home brew once the meeting is adjourned.

If you attend, visit me at BEER and I‘ll pour you my birthday beer. All three LI HBC clubs will be represented and one gluten free club from the west coast too!

Happy May Day! LIBME is having their meeting @ GSB in Lindenhurst tonight, and I think I’ll be sampling my Maibock at home because the parking there is apparently sparse.

Been getting the prizes together for https://comp.beerhbc.org/

I hope everyone is enjoying the great weather today. What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

Hey, what’s in your fermenter? My ale for Bluepoint has been in the pin for about a week now, and a blueberry ginger cider must be packaged tomorrow, so it will have some carbonation for the fest. I plan to do some lagers this winter.

Hey Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve had an HB Hefeweizen with dinner, and I will probably have an HB mocha latte mead with dessert. What goodness are you pouring today?

If anyone is in the Patchogue area, I just put out 2 6 gallon better bottles and some older fermentation buckets on the curb. I don’t have spickets or bungs for the better bottles, but they are yours free if you come grab em. Neither have seen any sour fermentations. Dm me and I’ll drop you my address

I’ve been making booch at home since I’ve cut back on drinking beer. My favorite is pineapple ginger, using fresh pineapple.
The apple cider this time of year is great for Booch. If you like pineapple, Black Cap has a pina colada. If you like ginger they also have one with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s like a Ginger Christmas cookie.
