I wasn't blown away. Kind of a let down.

Ya know, I felt the same way about "On An Island", but here we are eight years later and I still play it during work almost every friggin' day. And almost always followed by "Live From Gdansk".

Since it arrived Tuesday I've played "The Endless River" at least 10 times through and I'm still hearing things I missed. I find it fascinating, actually, but I totally get how it's not going to work with everyone. My boys think there isn't enough of the "soaring" guitar work Gilmour is known for.

I guess the fact that I wish there was twice as much material there would be a ding. But that's all I got...

Cheers! :)

That is true about Gilmour's solo stuff, I guess. Looking back I felt the same, but 2-3 songs are on numerous playlists of mine.

I bet a month from now I forget this conversation.

Look at the bottom of that fir tree the telltale sign
somebody was here, wired it up, put it together in no time
Who did the deed?
Who tried to rid the woods of free thinking dudes who cuss too much and do no good
They trample vegetation with their ATV's
So now theyre ****ing with the ghost of Jonny Appleseed
And hes a charitable spirit, but not so Christ-like
He wouldnt take his tin pot hat to their windpipes

Yaknow, that reminds me of an idea I once had. I really want to have a living wake. You know, basically a funeral while you are still alive. Truly celebrate your life and all that. Maybe we can start a trend.

For me it'd be this one

As well as this one for the books I write

Amazon had a deal on a pair of old Gilmour solo albums for $11 all up, 2 day delivery. Couldn't pass on it.

First cut on the '84 vintage will be good driving music.

Good version of an old song that I was surprised but perhaps shouldn't have been surprised to hear Springsteen singing.

New-ish

I both love and hate J. Mascis for being able to write a catchy-as-hell guitar solo as if it just popped into his head at sound check like no big deal.

HA! We're heading down to a couple Seattle thrift shops today! I always look for a piano or a keyboard to riff on for awhile. Had a broken keyboard, bought a broken keyboard!

Yesterday some mood music for working on a report. Today a bit of Bluegrass Christmas cause the company Christmas Party is tomorrow and I have to help prepare.
