Had "London Calling" on CD since I was old enough to realize how fantastic that album was. Finally grabbed it on vinyl.

Killswitch Engage "Wasted Sacrifice"
Here is the new episode of Ale & Metal TV. My favorite song in this episode is the last song by Opeth. Heavy and Melodic.

I've been on a Smiths kick lately and listening to The Queen Is Dead over and over.

I'm on YouTube exploring ZZ Top. I love these guys. I'm a big fan of American blues. These guys perform it better than anyone. There is a reason I refer to Billy Gibbons as Reverend Gibbons. Partly in homage to how Dimebag referred to him, but Dime did it for a reason. He is the best modern blues player of our time. He is in the same club as Stevie Ray and Hendrix.

Speaking of The Cure...last night I needed some background noise while working in my office and came across the original Judge Dredd on the toob. Leaving aside the total brain-suck that movie incurs, at the end I realized the theme song with the rolling credits had to have been done by Robert Smith of The Cure. A quick Google and sure enough...

Which lead to putting on my Cure playlist this morning...

Some stuff from NoiseTrade. They email a list of some of their up and coming artists and sometimes I log in and check some of them out. Currently it's SheLoom.

They aren't a bad band, but it's definitely not my kind of music. It's kind of boring. No real nice hooks or riffs. Just some chords and a matching rhythm. Kind of a pop/rock sound.

The nice thing about NoiseTrade is that the music is often free, or free and hopefully you donate. I think they usually recommend about $8 for each album. I haven't found anyone I'd really listen to every day, but you usually find a song or two that are pretty nice.

Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" full album on vinyl. Something both SWMBO and I agree on.

If you ever needed proof that vinyl > digital, this album is the proof.
