Somewhat related to today's selections....I recently pulled out a cd I haven't listened to in quite a few years by the Talking Heads called Naked, their final studio album. A very interesting album combining pop, soul, Afro-funk, Latin beats, and more, sometimes all in the same song. Anyway, here's one of my favorite tracks from the cd.

Things like that are inspiring. It's not quite the same but a while back I started watching videos of those music talent shows from all over the world and not only do they show that there is an incredible amount of talent out there but also that music is one of the few universal things that are felt by people no matter where they are from.

I'm always taping/doing the bongos, on the equipment I work on at work. Barely focusing on the job (which is mostly subconscious by now) but the music that constantly ebbs and flows on my head. Found some nice sounds over the decades...helps pass those 12hr shift to go by more pleasantly.

Jason Aldean's one of my faves. Back in the day, I had a girlfriend who went back to her former flame. Some bryan adams song was "their" song, and since that time I can't hear the guy without getting pissed. That was only 30+ years ago, you'd think I'd get over it.

Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie" although with the politically correct environment upon which we find ourselves "She's too cute to be a minute over 17" is probably unacceptable. So what! Great song.

I actually was fortunate to see Chuck Berry perform in the 1980s. Won tickets from WXTR 104. Called the station after the concert to thank them and said, "My life is complete. I've seen Chuck Berry". Go... go... go... Little Queenie...

This song speaks to me for some reason. In my adult life I've always tried to understand both sides of any issue and be informed and thoughtful but the funny thing about being in the "middle" is that often all sides think you're wrong...

Not many songs put a tear in my eye. All I thought of was Climate Change and the incredible damage our spieces is doing for the next couple generations to clean up. Sad..

A little trivia - Carl Douglas was once managed by Eric Woolfson. Woolfson was the main songwriter in The Alan Parsons Project, writing nearly all their songs.
