....my turbocharged Belgian Saison is percolating nicely! Krausen looks different today, and the bubbles are smaller. It's slowed a bit, and is down to two fingers. Smells great, and it tested out to a very nice 1.062. Looking for a 1.007 FG.

So, the krausen has taken off again, and is now three fingers tall. Hmmm, is the second yeast I used taking off? Mangrove Jack's dry started things up and now the Escarpment Ardennes is taking over...? I hope so! Woohoo!

I'm celebrating with an EightyEight Brewing special release called Leisure Center. Citra and Ekuanot...how can you go wrong!

My friend referred me to try Flaviar so we both got a free bottle. It's the evil liquor version of tavour!! Lol. The Japanese taster set is interesting. I liked it and sample C was my favorite. Of course, when I looked it up it's a $90 bottle hahaha.

This is crazy, Pepsi came out with a Nitro Cola. My friend gave me one to try. After you pour it you get faked out and think your gonna taste stout or porter type of flavors. You take a sip and it's creamy, and then the syrupy sweet hits you and you and realize it really does taste like soda and it's cloying sweet. It's crazy expensive too. $8.00 for a four pack. I'd rather have a Guinness! Thought I'd post a pic for everyone.....

Been a week. HB Rye IPA. This will probably be the first of several.

My HB Scottish Export Ale on the right, Cold Smoke on the left. For a first cut at this style, using Cold Smoke as a reference, I didn’t miss it by much. Mine is 5.5%, the real thing 6.5. Mine is a bit sweeter in the finish. Next time, I’ll add a pound of 2-row and cut the caramel by a couple ounces and increase the chocolate by a couple ounces.
