Hi.

I popped into the forum a few weeks ago to check out some Baja yeast reviews and was surprised to see some PMs regarding my HBT truancy.

I've had the Red Tool Box write me a letter to excuse my absence: "Please excuse Bramling Cross from HBT for a whole bunch of months because his sister needs a kidney and HBT makes Bramling Cross think it's a good idea to 'have another' at a time when he's decided that he needs to have one and only one each night, if that.”

Things are great and the process is moving forward--at the speed of the US health care system, I'm afraid.

I certainly haven't gone teetotal, I'm still brewing the beer I drink. I'm just drinking it out of that silly little Kolsch stange that you see in the photo.

Speaking of the Kolsch, it's a bog standard Kolsch with a pound of Vienna to differentiate it from the other kegs of yellow swill in my fridge.

Anyway, that's what I've been up to. Hope to see you all this winter. :bigmug:

Crooked Stave New Zealand pilsner. Never heard of this style before so figured I like pilsners, I'll try it. Next time I think that, I'll research some before buying! Doesn't look, smell or taste like any pilsner I've ever had. NZ dry hops add fruity, citrusy notes, hoppy bitterness up front and there is a pith-like bitterness on the finish. I know there a ton of folks who will like this but it's not for me. Trouble is, I have5 more to drink!
