Our Independence Day seafood smorgasbord was amazing, consisting of bacon wrapped jumbo scallops, crab claws with butter, crab cakes with tartar sauce, sautéed citrus shrimp with basil pesto, sautéed oregano octopus and a macaroni salad. As good as it looks. We ate the octopus and shrimp as appetizers. We also had a cold Hofbrau Original Lager and a Bitburger Premium Pilsner.

Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ceded all that

US could have easily annexed all of Mexico, since the US Army occupied its capital

also, coffee

I‘m not a history buff, and I don’t doubt the account you’ve posted. Mexico was not just Texas, it was Southern Ca, NM and Nevada, yes? 🙂 I‘m drinking coffee.

George is good. He has an upcoming vet visit where we will run the last tests before he is integrated into the general population and all hell breaks loose.

In a weird twist in the world, yesterday was the first time I brewed Sophie Demi (Hoppy APA) since Sophie passed. The timing strikes me. Hope you are hanging in there man.

Yeah, all is well. Great news about Jorge, but ummmmmmmm (awkward)...how about the OEC in that photo?

Mexico's territory stretched at least as far North as Monterey, California's first capital.

And Florida. Pretty much all of the South and southwest. Annexed..manifest destiny...territory appropriation. Such colorful terms for the stealing land.

Take your political and historical views out of this thread.
Thank you for explaining how every nation in history got their borders
Don't pander to me. Not only was one of my majors US and World history before I became an Army nurse but I was stationed at Ft Sam and lived 10 min from the Alamo for 15 years. Call it what you want to. Theft is theft
