Just got back from ABGB, threw back a couple pints and slices with PianoMan. Swapped some HB too, looking forward to trying them all. Very generous.

I owe you a beer or two as well, we'll have to meet up again before my time in Austin ends.

Had a nice sample of my muscadine wine earlier...used Montrachet yeast and it is down to 0.990 SG. It is obviously young and has some tannin, but more red wine and less wild grapey than previously. Body is fairly light. I may open one next Summer, but plan on holding on to most until Fall of 2016.

Moved along to a Citra Belle Saison...nice Citra hops aroma and taste with a little pepper in the finish. Good carb. Good Summer beer and works as a transition to early Fall.

Loaded some more stuff in the fridge earlier...Hmmm, what'll it be?

It was my son's 3rd birthday today, so I was busy most of the morning and afternoon with bread making, prepping and cooking/grilling. Started drinking around 2:30 but was so busy I couldn't get any real damage done till now, when it's nearly too late.

Having a pull from my hb imperial red rye ale.

Another one of my zombie dusts to celebrate booking my flight to GABF!

Ever been to GABF before? Also, any of you other alchys coming to Denver that week?

Found a year old box of several pumpkin beers in the basement last night , leftover from a party last year. This has no pumpkin spice or flavor in it. I think it's better than when it was fresh. :)

Decided to try the fermented ginger beer. It was a little overcarbed for pasteurizing, so I bled the bottles off a bit first. Now they aren't...at least this one isn't ...as carbed as I would like. The flavor is okay, but I really don't have anything to compare it to. By itself, it's not my favorite, but I'll bet it will be good mixed with some tepache or a Matt's Summer Brew. No tepache in the fridge, so I'll go with the Summer Brew.

Never been to GABF but have been to Denver several times. Staying with my bro, and will likely hit up crooked stave at some point too as he and his wife like their beers.

I hate pumpkin spice.

Ahhh...that's MUCH better! Matt's Summer Brew/Fermented Ginger Beer Shandy. I'm finding that my Summer Brew starts to bubble up into the neck and will spill over a bit, if I don't pour it quickly enough. Not an immediate gush, but it builds. I can see the dregs starting to bubble up from the bottom. Still good flavor and not overcarbed otherwise. Weird. Maybe I should have racked this one more carefully and gone for a little better clarity. Ah well, nothing to be done about it now, but to put it to good use!

I don't mind the occasional pumpkin beer, but there was over a case left after the Halloween party last year and I was sick of drinking them. Stuck a 12 pack in the 'cellar' and forgot about them. I'm guessing there will be several drain pours over the next couple nights...

Enjoy GABF, everyone should experience it at least once. If you wanna grab a beer when in town, let me know.

Aging them at least makes it sound more drinkable though ha.
I'll hit you up one day. Going the 1st-7th so plenty of time.

Coffee time.

Good for you. I so wanted to sleep in, but instead I pushed myself out of bed and did my six miles instead :(

Same. Alarm went off and I really teetered on the brink this morning. Pushed thru and made it out for a run. Always feels good, just have to get past the initial suck.

Coffee now.

Water. It's leg day, *******!
