Very tasty chocolate stout.
Ok, hb neipa now.. I'll be sad when this keg is gone, but there's a citra, strata, galaxy in the fermenter that I just started cold crashing tonight so it'll be next in line..
Managed to find two single hop, Styrian Wolf IPA's at a store today. O'hara's Hop adventure Styrian Wolf (not pictured as SWMBO drank most of it) and Lone Wolf a single hop IPA by Reservoir Dogs (a Slovene craft brewery).
My take away from the sampling is that I'm a fan of the specific hop. The O'hara's version seemed to include some roasted malt and possibly biscuit malt that paired well with the bitterness of the IPA. Providing some pleasant complexity, while the Reservoir Dogs version was a bit heavier handed with the bittering hop addition and sort of fell short as far as complexity went.

And a nice second beer, an English Best Bitter brewed by the SWMBO. Tasty and refreshing.

Ugh, this light lager is so hazy, guess I need to use a little something and lager longer.
Good suggestion, I’ll inform the judges to do just that.Or, just close your eyes when you drink it.

I don't smoke much anymore but a buddy that sold his family business moved his smoke shop to NH.
Tee times booked as days of rain. How about a Woodford Reserve Double Oak,Sobremesa and maaaybe a team this year.

Tomorrow is the trout opener in PA, left work early and headed to my favorite area, middle of freakin nowhere and hope to see no one but my wife, my dad, and my buddy. Oh and some fishes.
Ah the weekend is finally here. Time to decompress a bit with the most chug-worthy party brew of all time… Kona Big Wave! You think I’m kidding? This is the easiest drinking Ale in the cold case at the gas station! At 25 ounces, Kona GETS IT!
Kona Big Wave is a 4.4% ABV session beer, delicious and really a fun party beer. Next time you are filling up the ice chest, put a bunch of these in. Forget the seltzers and other brews – this one gets takers!
About a half finger of head and actually has some nice lacing, Kona Big Wave is now brewed all over the place. Oh, you thought just Hawaii? ʻAʻole pono koʻu hoaaloha! How about Fairfield, CA ; Fort Collins, CO; Cartersville, GA; Merrimack, NH; Portsmouth, NH, and Portland, OR!!!
I really wish some of the other brewers would clue in and release their beers in such perfect sized cans. When you’ve been glugging down 19.2 ounce, 24 ounce and now 25 ounce stovepipes, all those wimpified 11.2 and 12 ounce cans seem so babyish and infantile. Like we really need “chaser” cans or something. These 25’s really take over, that’s the size I want! With a moniker like Beermeister32, I'll do one better - bring on the 32-ounce quarts! Ke aloha!

Man after my own heart. I'll take quietness and scenery over bites. I go up to Rangeley every year and it's amazing for in the middle of nowhere but famous you'll see shoulder to shoulder Orvis fashion show Nope! I have my fav hidden spots and I've discovered I like the brookies and serenity.
I was just out today looking at bikes. I'm getting too old to be hiking with waders. Couple of years ago I'm sweating my arse off and an e bike flew past me up a long hill. I have ditched the neoprene. Not sure I'll go electric but there's tons of closed timber gravel roads I want to go deeper in.

OT, HB kveik IPA
Today I’m drinking a couple dinksters of Warsteiner Brewers Gold, their twist on unfiltered “Gold Going On Brown” Lager. Sort of like a Kellerbier really complete with brewing crud from distant shores. I generally view unfiltered or at least unfined beers as unfinished beers. Some people really groove on these unfiltered brews. Me not so much a groovester. Sorry, just in one of them moods…
This is a nice beer however, tasty even if it comes to us as a diminutive 11.2 ounce can of hazy Lager. Takes two to fill my glass. Warsteiner Brauerei is based in, you guessed it… Warstein, Germany, about 30 miles East of Dortmund, in the North. This is a 5.2% ABV beer.
I will say this, that Pilsner of theirs from about of week ago was TOP FORM FANTASTIC! That means these folks know their beer, Pilsner is a real deluxe beer that some places do great with, some blow it. I guess that means that Brewer’s Gold must be designed this way. Go get some of their Pilsner, it’s top notch, head of the class. This is OK, but focus on the PILS. Prost!

Yes, it may actually have a little more flavor than it should,
foam that lasts a bit too long and leaves some lacing on the glass too. I sent it off for judging so I’ll be gettIng that feedback soon enough.
I’m still drinking coffee.
