Glad I bought these beers in aluminum cans a few months ago!
HB pale ale.
Still quite young and a fair amount of wheat in the grain bill. A lot cloudier than I would like.

After a month-long review of Pilsners, you’d think I’d take a day off, or switch over to Stouts or Sours or something. No Way! I picked up this delicious 6-pack a couple weeks ago and I’ve been looking forward to it ever since!
Trumer is best known for fantastic German lagers from their two breweries, Salzberg, Austria and Berkeley, California. Trumer Pilsner is spot-on perfect, (das ist das gute zeug!) and a winner of many gold medals. Here comes another soon-to-be classic brew, Doppelgänger Northern Lager. With a name like Doppelgänger, you’d think this was going to be a Double or Doppelbock or lookalike or something - Nope! In this case it is a respectful mirror of their flagship Austrian brewery. In my case, it means I’m drinking two identical cans at once!
This beer really reminds me of two different tasty beers – First is my very own Citra-Pils recipe. The color is similar too, mine had a Pilsner backbone but added a lb of Vienna malt and a whole ‘buncha Citra hops. The second would be the several years old Bitburger/Sierra Nevada partner brewing venture of Triple Hop’d Lager – another hoppy favorite I wish they’d brew again. The American hops Citra and Mosaic we’re used to seeing in IPAs – and now we’re seeing them pop up in some great, refreshing and hoppy Lager hybrids.
This ties in with what we’ve been experiencing with some of the Pacific Pisners lately – hopped up Lagers (or is that up-hopped Lagers? Hmm….) Anyway, they are hoppier than a Pilsner, sometimes use American even IPA-familiar hops with a traditional Pilsner or mixed with a 2-row base and of course are Lagers, not Ales, giving way to a very crisp, refreshing gluggable beer with a super-clean finish!
Some of the advances happening now to the light hoppy Lager world are impressive. Alesmith’s Anvil Pilsner and now this. Maybe there is hope after all…. Prost!

Tasty winter ale with smoked barley and spruce tips, 8%. Getting a little of the smoke in this can which I haven't detected before. Maybe has to do with what I've drunk before I tasted this. Definitely enjoy it but still don't get the spruce tips.

More of the HB black wheat ale so so was supposed to be dunkleweizen but i fermented too cold and oxidized it me thinks but who cares i made beer to get back in the hobby....beer. i couldn't fit all that on my tap handle.
Oh and the mug my 8 year old saw at a yard sale and got for me!!

Had my order all prepared and then they tell me NH Beer week at Spyglass. $12 for the glass and a pour. Brain freeze!

To celebrate, what finer way than to crack open a delicious and yummy San Diego brew, Mission Brewing’s Blonde Ale. Well, this is great. Now we all have a place to crash in San Diego! A great way to spend more time sampling the local brew scene!
Mission Brewing is a San Diego favorite – and they brew a Beermeister32 approved range of light Ales, IPAs and Lagers. They also have a number of tasting rooms in and around the San Diego area. Mission Blonde Ale is a tasty and perfectly balanced, 5% ABV Ale brewed with Noble hops no less. So there is definitely a European influence here, and not unlike a good Kolsch. Next time you are in the Southern California or better yet the San Diego market, track down one of these stove-pipes. At 19.2 ounces, buy yourself a bigger beer glass while you are at it! Enjoy!

So sorry to hear of your misfortune, glad you are upright and amongst us - sorry for the high Jack-Hello HBT folks. I got a text from @MaxStout a little while ago, inquiring as to my location relative to the top of the ground so I thought I should check in here.
I brewed my most recent batch on Jan.16, a Mosaic Blonde, and posted about it here which was probably the last time I checked in. A week to the day after that I suffered a stroke. Spent 5 days in the hospital, of which I have no memory, and have spent the last couple of months shuttling between various medical appointments and physical therapy sessions. I had a Dr. appointment this morning and he was pleased with my progress. So, I continue to wake up still not dead every morning and the prognosis is that I should continue to do so.
I’ve been exploring the wonderful world of NA beer. I’m happy to report that there is no shortage of non-alcoholic male beverages beverages which taste very much like beer. I’m going to look into brewing NA beer so I can continue to brew. I did keg the Blonde a week, or so, ago to get it off the yeast after almost two months. The carb sampls tasted OK despite being on the yeast that long. So, I have HB to serve others while I stick with the unleaded stuff. I’m lucky to not have any significant, long term, effects from the stroke so I’m not about to jump off the wagon.
Thanks to those who noticed my absence and wondered what had happened. I’m still on the right side of the dirt and hope to stay there as long as I can.
Homemade sourdough grilled cheeses with homemade pastrami and a side of homemade tomato bisque, why I didn't pour a home made beer is beyond me, whatever it's a new trail stuck in the background of the pic, solid west coast ipa.
