if a hop has 1/2 as much myrcene does that mean you should use it 2:1 if you want the flavor/aroma to come through?

for example if my citra hops have twice as much myrcene as my eldorado do i want to use 2 to 1 el dorado to citra in the dry hop to taste the el dorado. or is it more a matter of trial and error. ?

I do it based on smell and total oil content

some hops are just more potent than other in aroma. Stuff like citra, mosaic, centennial, sabro you don't need a whole lot.

for hops with lower oil contents I do generally use more vs. ones with higher oil content so that one hop doesn't dominate

I always sniff my hops before using them. Break up a pellet of each in your hands before brewing and you will get a sense of which hops blend together and which ones to use higher % of based on how strong the smell
