Not a real doctor. Lives in garage.
I've had nothing in California that touches the most average dumpster in Hawaii. That's fine, though. The only good poke I've had in the Bay Area is Simply Bowl in Berkeley. Fight me.

Mine is Koloa Fish Market on Kauai and Tamura’s Fine Wines and Liquors on Maui.Yeah my comparisons are always against Da Fish House in Kawaihae: (NOT THE WAGON!!! https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x795380eb7f0bad5d:0xc4f16eec529db562!2m22!2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i20!16m16!1b1!2m2!1m1!1e1!2m2!1m1!1e3!2m2!1m1!1e5!2m2!1m1!1e4!2m2!1m1!1e6!3m1!7e115!4shttps://lh5.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1QipNxPkSIDjFB1vPVLE1YIhNV32MyDcUNk6uT_PR2=w426-h320-k-no!5sda+fish+house+kawaihae+-+Google+Search&imagekey=!1e10!2sAF1QipNxPkSIDjFB1vPVLE1YIhNV32MyDcUNk6uT_PR2&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiBocu60-DZAhWBKGMKHcFnDUYQoioInAEwCg)
Dream about their spicy sea asparagus tuna. We randomly stayed like a two/minute drive from Koloa. My favorite overlooked gem on the island. Fun little town.![]()

Could talk about green tea: Poke Lab is the only place I've seen cans of Ito En green tea (https://www.itoen.com/) other than from Hawaii. Was there yesterday (helping brentsdodgers celebrate at Alverado) and the Poke Lab crew said they import from Japan.
Picked up 2 cans at the Monterrey location based on this review. Looking forward to cracking one this weekend.![]()
Rainy weather made me bust this one out. Really well done. Prickly carb, full mouthfeel, caramel figs, vanilla, heat on the finish. Touch dry for my taste but that makes it merely excellent. As far as I can tell the barrel is pretty much exclusively coming through via the vanilla presence. Makes me wish I had more, I think there's a chance this one can go the distance.
Damn $20 for a 500ml is pretty steep. Wasn't year 1 $12 for a 22?sounds like the next anniversary ale is going into bottles instead of cans... bummer...
$20 a 500ml, 100% increase
double bummer![]()
