ok Stu, let me know how it is. At that price tag it should last at least a little while

i agree, presentation is huge, which is why this probably should have been bottled and waxed.

i also cited examples of BA cans that were under $10
It depends, quads might be more expensive to brew or this might have aged longer (20 months is a long time in a barrel, so I would assume so) which can all affect the cost. I think it's stupid, frankly, to say that the container should be a factor in pricing, especially when modern cans are superior in pretty much every way to bottles.

I'll post in the quad thread how it is if I can get my hands on any.

I agree 100% that container shouldn't matter, and it doesn't to me, however the way you present things is important to some people. All I give a rats ass about is the contents and cost per oz.

if you present them in a 4-pack and charge $64 for said 4-pack it just doesn't look good in the eyes of the consumer. But a bottle with pretty dripping wax and is packaged as just 1 looks a whole lot better IMO.

Easy solution: waxed cans. Or a special box.

Right, if all you're going off of is how it looks and can't do math.

I quite enjoyed my $25 Straight Jacket 4pk.

And my $54 6pk of Vikings Lament looked pretty sexy as I walking it back to my car last Friday. Got a quite few looks from the ladies as they were getting out of thier yoga class.

Releasing only at our Tasting Room in Salinas and Brewpub in Monterey

They had cans at CBS. Picked one up because Alvarado is dope and I trust their brewing.

Maybe 10 cans? This was a few days ago, probably all gone now. Shockingly, was about $15 per can — even cheaper than advertised.

Beer Rev ended up getting cans, I got a couple. Want to open one ASAP to try it fresh, not sure when I'll get around to it though...

Rainy weather made me bust this one out. Really well done. Prickly carb, full mouthfeel, caramel figs, vanilla, heat on the finish. Touch dry for my taste but that makes it merely excellent. As far as I can tell the barrel is pretty much exclusively coming through via the vanilla presence. Makes me wish I had more, I think there's a chance this one can go the distance.

awesome glad to hear it! i bit the bullet and picked some up. $13 at toro sounds like the best deal

Went to the Monterey location last week. I was not expecting a full service restaurant of that caliber! I was impressed with the food offerings and beer selection, also to-go options. Plus the Fieldwork pop-up is just a block up the way. Highly recommend a visit. Additionally the restaurant up the way, Lallapalooza, has the most amazing steak bites ever.

Poke Lab is great, too.

The only good poke I've had in the Bay Area is Simply Bowl in Berkeley. Fight me.
