I'm going to work through some "E's" while I'm cleaning up and cooking.

Eight To The Bar - Hey, Sailor! (2001)
Evanescence - Fallen (2003)
Elvenking - The Pagan Manifesto (2014)
Elastica - Elastica (1995)

The Country side of life today....

Suzy Bogguss -Somewhere Between (1988)

I bought tickets for several shows this week, one being the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Van Morrison.

So I think today I'll just hit up the Tedeschi Trucks Band station on Prime Music. That should likely play both of them.

Monster Magnet and White Zombie - La Sexercisto
To start probably shift gears to
Alice in Chains unplugged
Madseason
Drain STH
I was a big WZ fan from the beginning. I've always struggled with Rob's solo stuff, though. Just too polished and radio friendly is the only reason I can come up with for not loving it. Maybe I should try again sometime.

I changed gears after breakfast and coffee, new list:

Luis Armstrong
Jack Teagarden
Benny Goodman
Artie Shaw

The beauty of having taken a few months to digitally archive most of my music, its easy to rearrange background music.

I still have crates of vinyl to digitize, but thats a whole different level of motivation. And something about listening to digital vinyl isn't as satisfying.

A couple years ago I digitized my entire CD collection (2500+ titles). External hard drives are cheap, so I ripped them all to .WAV files. Almost filled up a 3TB drive, then I copied it all onto a second 3TB drive for redundancy in case one of them crashes. It took several months. I have ripped some vinyl, but it's a slow process, being it's done in real time.

Flac is supposed to be a great lossless compression, but can't be played on all systems. I usually do variable bitrate 320.mp3 Even on my monitors I can't distinguish the difference.

Flac would've gotten me maybe 2x compression, but I like the playback versatility of WAV. I probably could not discern lossless from high-bitrate mp3 in an A/B listening test, but the main reason I wanted lossless is that mp3 has a problem with gaps between tracks from albums with crossfaded songs. If something ever happened to the original CDs, I wanted the ability to burn replacement CDRs at CD quality, with no audio artifacts.

Allmusic rates these as 5 star, I just like 'em!
