Starting off this morning with Richard Cheese.

After my coffee switching to something dancy-pop like while wife and I finish the kitchen tile.
I wish I could like that post more than once. I love Richard Cheese. Also, for something dancy-pop for the wife, (and maybe you, too), check out Caro Emerald. It's not really pop, but it's infectious enough to make my non-dancing ass want to move.

I've got the biggest crush on Caro Emerald, she's my celebrity hall pass. I love her style, the mix of sultry nightclub vocals with modern flair, very nicely done. And good mastering of her tracks. I really enjoy when music doesn't sound like crap because someone took the time to engineer the recording properly.

Today is mowing, brewing, kegging, and picking a ton of peppers day. The wife is going to play designer purse bingo today, so after this morning's playlist, it'll likely degenerate into 80's hair metal or thrash.

Norah Jones - Feels Like Home (2004)

Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers - Miss Smith To You! (2009)

I have a Royal Crown Revue Pandora station that does just that. ^^^

I'll join you by putting that on today.

13 pounds of pork in the smoker today, and some drinking that needs done. That seems like a solid combination.

I did 7lbs of lamb leg in the smoker yesterday. Wasn't my finest work, but still delicious. Was having trouble keeping the temperature down low enough. And my rub was a off just a litte. Lamb was fork tender though.

Inspired by your posts last week, I fired up the smoker yesterday and did three large salmon fillets for a party last night. Kosher salt, coarse ground black pepper, and pecan wood, for about 2.5 hrs at 230 degrees....standard recipe for past 20 years, works every time. Having the same smoker all those years makes it easier...

In the blender today, after a late start:

The Grateful Dead- -Dave's Pick's Vol. 28, Passaic 6/17/76 (2018)
King Sunny Ade - Odu (1998)
Kermit Ruffins & the Barbeque Swingers - #imsoneworleans (2015)
Bryan Lee - Crawfish Lady (2000)
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live at Carnegie Hall (1997)

I've yet to decide. Earlier this week I was thinking about Women of Blues

Big Mamma Thorton
Sarah Vaughan
Koko Taylor
Sapphire and the uppity blues women

But today doesn't feel like a blues day.
I've started instead with some afro-beat
Mbongwana Star
ALBINO!
Felat/Femi Kuti
Staff Benda Bilili

Totally didn't listen to anything all day. Had to drag my stuff across the county to pour at a fest, and just got home. Some good, more uncommon, choices from @Littletimmy and @S-Met this week.
I like variety. But without a doubt, Arlo Guthrie will be on a set list around thanksgiving. I always set 1 single pickle next to the turkey and patiently wait for someone to ask me the significance of the Pickle!

Veterans Day Edition

Thanks Dad (Pacific-WWII), Uncle Joe (D-Day/Europe WWII), Mr. Dickie (FIL-Pacific-WWII), and the many former students who have served to protect our freedoms......never forget!

Johnny Cash- The Sun Singles Collection '55-'59 (2011)
Elvis Presley - Sunrise (1999)
Kris Kristofferson - The Silver Tongue Devil And I (1971)
Hank Thompson - The Best of the Best of Hank Thompson (1980)
Sturgill Simpson - Metamodern Sounds in Country Music (2014)

I had little sleep last night. Wifey turned the tables on me last night, and kept me awake by snoring. It's going to be a crappy day, methinks. I'll make it better by smoking a swineapple. Most use pork ribs on the inside, but I'm doing ground ham and red onion.

Two beers and a shot of bourbon have already found their way into my belly, and I've not yet made it completely through my first selection for today. As a result, today's music is not going down the path I had planned yesterday.

Imelda May - Love Tattoo (2007)

I'm enjoying it so much, I'm just going to carry on with her for a while, and then make a switch to a similarly fantastic lady.

Imelda May - Mayhem (2010)
Imelda May - More Mayhem (2011)
Imelda May - Tribal (2014)
Devil Doll - Queen of Pain (2001)
Devil Doll - The Return of Eve (2007)

@S-Met If you haven't tried these ladies, I highly recommend them.

I've got a few albums for Imelda May. Nothing from Devil Doll yet, though I've heard losts if her music on pandora.

Today's set is one of DJ Dacha's long mixes: Jazz Funk Latin Vibes, 9hr20min mix. Guess I'll see how far I make it through the set.

Never heard of Imelda May, Caro Emerald, August Burns Red, and many others until imasickboy mentioned them, definitely solid additions to the collection. Same with @S-Met and Bond, Apocalyptica and some other DJ based music. Always need to broaden my musical palette....

But, after four RIS and a shot of Bushmills Honey, I'll finish out the afternoon with another member of our military services....

Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition (2018)

Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition (2018)
Nice! This week was going to include some bootlegs, one of which was Hendrix - Woke Up This Morning and Found Myself Dead, but that will have to wait for next week...

And tile is done. At least until the bathroom remodel starts. Aside from one day for garage reorganization, my next few set lists will be more mellow.

Sliding into Sunday and a week off from work!

Roy Rogers - Slidewinder (1988)
Tedeschi Trucks Band - Live: Everybody's Talkin' (2012)
J. B. Hutto & The Hawks - Hawk Squat (1968)
The Derek Trucks Band - Roadsongs (2010)
Sonny Landreth - Bound By The Blues (2015)
David Lindley - El Rayo-X (1981)

I love Landreth. He totally doesn't match my theme this week , but I'll throw him in, anyway. My theme is ticket blitz week. I've spent a lot of money on tickets this week. Albums from all of them today:

Reverend Horton Heat - Lucky 7 (2002)
Jimmie's Chicken Shack - Fail On Cue (2008)
Dropkick Murphys - Signed and Sealed in Blood (2012)
Iron Maiden - The Book of Souls (2015)

Sonny Landreth - South Of I-10 (1995)

Quite the setlist S-met! Lots of unfamiliar artists to mull over and research... My plan today is to finish several outdoor projects while listening to the following:

Elvis Costello - Armed Forces (1979)
Elvis Costello - Blood & Chocolate (1986)
Elvis Costello - Get Happy !! (1980)
Elvis Costello - Imperial Bedroom (1982)
Elvis Costello - My Aim is True (1977)
Elvis Costello - Painted From Memory (1998)
Elvis Costello - This Year's Model (1978)
Elvis Costello - Trust (1981)
Elvis Costello & The Imposters - Look Now (2018)

Saw Elvis in concert Friday night, been since 1982 since I had seen him, great show...

The danger of someone handing a drunken sleep deprived audiophile control of the playlist for the next 6 hours.

Haven't played Elvis Costello in a while, will have to work him in the lineup.

Just had Jimmy Buffett on a couple weeks ago.
