I'm looking for a decent kit for my first batch of wine. I've made several batches of beer, but my fiancée wants me to turn my fermentor over to her uses for a batch. She wants a batch of sweet red, can anyone recommend a kit?

Really not aware of any sweet red kits other than port or I think there is a cabernet ice wine kit, then you have the mist type kits which come in many grape plus non-grape blends, like BlackberryMerlot, or something paired with strawberry or raspberry for example. Or consider making concord wine from frozen 100% concentrate or shelf stable juice. Or check Walker's Fruit Basket in NY, online, and they can ship five gallons of concord juice.

Red kits ferment to dry, generally.

Try one of the "mist" styles. They make a sweet wine that will go over very well and there are several flavors to try.

Plus, they are relatively cheap.
