I'm new to homebrewing. So far I've got two extract kits fermenting.

I am trying to collect ingredients for a red ale recipe. The recipe calls for Pale LME in two 3.3lb additions. I am having a hard time finding it. Could I substitute Gold LME? Light LME?

Light is what you want. Gold sounds slightly darker, but I have no idea. Pale LME and light should be around the same color.

Look for Alexander's Sun Country Malt Extract in your favorite inline homebrew supplier. It's a pale LME that comes in 3.3 lb cans.
