I tried a Brewers Best Scotch Ale kit.

I have been brewing for 3 years and thought I would give this one a try.
I did everything the same as usual but forgot to add the Irish Moss.
I pitched at 71 degress and atached a blow off tube. The kruessen started at about 6 hrs post pitch, and was very clean, then 12 hrs later kruessen was darker. 36 hrs after pitching the yeast appears to have dropped out.

Did the yeast blow out of the fermenter with the kruessen???

any ideas?????

I am at 48 hrs and I am thinking about re-pitching.

Yeast was Danstar Nottingham dry yeast ( i hydrated at 75 degrees 1 hr before pitching)

Thanks

Nah, it'll be fine. Most of your fermentation might have already taken place. The beer I made a week ago went off quickly and had a decent krausen in about 6 hours. It had all but fallen in about 24 hours since pitching. There are still a couple little bubbles on the top of the beer inside the carboy.

Let it sit there for a week, and then transfer to secondary. If you're concerned, take a hydro reading after a week. But just relax, don't worry.... ah, you know the rest. :D
