Hi I have a wyeast smack pack in the fridge since April 25, I noticed today that it is inflated, the nuitrent pack must have popped, should I make a starter for it or can I just pitch away? Using it for 1 gallon of mead.
It'll be fine. For a 1 gallon batch, I probably wouldn't even make a starter. Run it through an online yeast calculator just to be sure, though. The fact that the nutrient pack opened won't affect the viability.
