I'm new to reusing yeast. I've heard that, when storing the yeast, you should have as little head space as possible in the jar.

Any thoughts on this?

I've stored my yeast in some old 16 oz jars which are only half full/half empty. Perhaps going forward I should use the smaller size jars and fill them up completely?

I like using 12 oz. beer bottles... cheaper than mason jars and they store better/take up less space. Plus bottle caps are cheaper than mason jar lids.

Just be careful when grabbing a brew out of the fridge... That first mouthful could be a bit of a shocker. :cross:

beer bottles sound like a good idea. isn't it a pain, pouring in the slurry into the bottles? I guess you could use a funnel, but then that's just one more thing to sanitize.
