A few of my brews... mainly a pilsner lager and an American wheat... all taste and smell good and as expected... however when I pour them every bottle creates in the glass a strange particular shape on top of the foam...

A lot of the times these shapes are very similar... could this be a slight infection or do you think more to do with proteins and CO2 science nucleation factors etc?

Thank you :)

Look at the bottom of your glass. I used to have a Duvel glass that had their trademark "D" etched on the bottom to create just such a design in the head.

I'm not saying there's an etched design, but there might be something causing the nucleation in that pattern...

I have this happen once in a while, not indicative of infection. Not really sure why this happens, proteins in the beer perhaps accompanied with different glassware?
